I heard the water freeze over. I screamed as loud as I could and a tear fell down my face. I notched another arrow, which would probably miss, and aimed at Star. She was unhittable. "Screw this," I said to the Gamemakers, letting the arrow fly.

Star shuddered, almost dropping her spear. "Did anyone else feel that? IT'S COLD. SOMETHING IS WRONG HERE. Although I have to say, I much prefer it to the heat." Even in the face of death, Star couldn't stop talking. She debated attacking Marnie again. If I attack her, she'll definitely attack me. We might never stop fighting. But if I don't attack her in faith that she won't attack me, I could end up seriously hurt before she is and possibly dead. I think I'm going for insane evil girl. Let's kill some tributes! She decided, mentally apologizing for what she was about to do. She held on to the end of the spear and stabbed at Marnie- when, suddenly, she thought of something and pulled the spear back. "Wait. Can we please, please stop for a moment and think? If it doesn't work, we can go back to fighting again. But fighting is a sure-fire way for at least one of us to get hurt. Trying to escape gives us all a chance of survival. Come on, just take your anger out on the wall or something. Does anyone know where the water is? HUNTER! YOU ARE NOT DEAD YET! ESTHER IS NOT HERE! WE KNOW YOU TWO ARE IN LOVE, NOW SNAP OUT OF IT AND LIVE IN THE PRESENT, OR YOU REALLY WILL DIE! Will somebody show me where the water is? I think this guy needs some on his face to wake up and I'd like to fill up my other skin. COME ON, PEOPLE, THIS ISN'T THAT HARD! FIGHTING TAKES MORE EFFORT THAN THIS!" She screamed. "Come on, it's getting colder, the water's going to freeze or maybe we will! HURRY!" She realized Marnie was still shooting at her and gave up on a truce. "UGH! I HATE YOU PEOPLE! DARN IT, MARNIE!" she yelled, and stabbed at her again with her spear.

I couldn't hear Star. Ihad to calm myself. I started to sing a song back from 4. It was while I saw my hallucination Esther burn to crisp.

I quietly listen to the two girls duking it out. Not I chance I was entering that fight. I liked my chances with Hunter better, even though in his hallucinating state I could snap my neck by tapping me. The water begins to freeze over and I enjoyed that I could drink silently now. I grab the ice that was forming on the outside of the pool and place it in my mouth. The cool liquid quenched my thirst, and seemed to give me a renewed energy. Cold was better then hot.

I shivered slightly and raised my bow again. My left leg hurt and I screamed out in pain as the spear hit my leg. I raised my bow again, possibly being unsuccessful. I shot at Star, aiming for vital organs.

I was so tired. I wanted to fall asleep. Then after about ten minutes I finally heard Star's words. About Esther and I. "SHE DOESN'T LOVE ME OKAY?! SHE HATES ME! I'M SURE SHE DOES NOT WANT ME TO LEAVE THIS FRIGGING CAVE!!!!I LOVE HER SO MUCH AND THIS IS HOW THE GAMEMARKETS AWARD ME!!!! THEY DRIVE ME INSANE!!! It isn't fair..... I love." I slowly started drifting off to sleep.

THE DREAM.........

It was back in district 4. The first time I saw her. My friends were picking on her about how she couldn't swim. I kept telling them to shut up. Esther was in tears. When my friends were done I was going to offer to give her swimming lessons. But I freaked out and left. Then something changed in my dream from real life. In real life, I kept walking and never looked back. But in my dream I turn around and offer Esther the lessons. She accepts.

In the next part of my dream it was a year later. I had taught Esther to become an amazing swimmer. We had grown very find of each other. Then I asked her out. She said yes.

In the final part of my dream it was reaping day again. My name was card and do was hers. We both started freaking out. Then two people volenteered for us. We Esther and I stayed in love after that.

It all could've happened.
If I turned around.

I wake up and I still hear faint bodies. But I know I am still insane. Nothing new has happened for me.

Star realized she had to get rid of this pesky... guilt. She took every bit of her misgiving towards hurting people, and crushed it with an imaginary boulder. Just do it, Star. She told herself. Breathe in, breathe out, and stab! Colors raced through her thoughts, bleeding every possible shade of red. The threads of color shifted through a series of different shapes, some unrecognizable, some faint memories from her past, and some the ghosts she had always wanted to speak with. Her imagination stretched the limits of reality in her thoughts and poured liquid rage through her veins. Star knew that none of it was actually happening in real life, but it was what she felt. She took a deep breath, balanced her mind like a spear, and let go.

Star stabbed forward viciously and screamed, then attempted to form words. "I'm going to kill you, Marnie. You're going to die in this chamber, right here, right now. and it is going to be incredibly awkward if you end up killing me or I miss, but guess what? I don't care anymore." she murmured, knowing that it would probably be creepier than if she had screeched. If Star were a cartoon character, she would have closed her eyes when they were brown, and opened her eyelids with bright red irises, but this was real life. This was real death. This was the Hunger Games.

Just then a small opening had been made in the roof and down came a gift hanging by a parachute, on the container had the a red four on it. Inside was a medical kit for Hunter. At the cost of the kit everyone was now able to see where each other were for twenty seconds before it closed again and they were in complete darkness, yet again.

I felt the parachute drop into my lap. I just hugged it for a few seconds. I could heal myself a bit. I smiled a little. Maybe I could see her again. Now I would sit here and wait. I would fight if I had to. I was still insane, but I felt stronger. What doesnt kill you makes you stronger. I still wouldn't be myself. But I was a stronger with my isabel love. Even though I won't likely be getting out of this cave alive, I couldn't help but think of doing it. Then it all suddenly faded away. I was isabel regularly again. Only safer. With my medical kit and spear.

For those few 20 seconds, I saw how close Star was, and scooted away, bumping into Hunter. I scurried behind him, my blood dripping everywhere I went. I was afraid to shoot at Star. She was really good with that spear. She could easily kill us now that she knew where we were. At least I was further away from her. After the opening in the roof closed, I scooted silently to the left, carrying my bow with me. I had my aim at Star the whole time the opening was open, so I took the opportunity and shot at her.

Star growled. "This is fun, you know?" she whispered, her voice husky, and dry of any positive emotion. "Even if I can't see the blood, I know what it looks like. Dripping down your precious little limbs. Killing you slowly. PAINFULLY..."

Her eyes were wide with insanity. It was official. Star Orchid Caelum, female, District 6, 13 years old, self-proclaimed psychic and medium even though she had no psychic abilities whatsoever, had gone crazy. She clawed at the spear, willing it to hit perfectly in Marnie's vitals, and weighed it in her hands. "Come on, pretty little tribute. Aren't you going to hit me?" She taunted, eyes flashing with god-knows-what as she threw back her head and laughed. Her fingers closed around the spear, her gaze locked on where she thought Marnie's neck was, her face twitched, and she twisted her hips forward as if she was throwing the spear, but took a step forward instead of releasing it. Her sanity arched, and snapped in half, then hit the bottom of the chasm in her mind and shattered into a million glassy pieces. She let out a primal scream as she attacked the other tribute.

I hear Star scream, and then see all of them. The light in the pitch darkness set my eyes to fire, and sent stars blazing across the room. I could only see the outline of things and people for a brief second. I see Marnie running, probably to use the injured Hunter as a human shield. At that moment I lost all respect I once had for her. A human shield is a cowardly move that allows you to place an innocent bystander into combat without a weapon of means of defense. Regardless, Star, Marnie, and Hunter all knew where I was standing. I leap to the right and find myself moving on ice. One good stab of the spear, and I manage to get back on land. I was startled and a little off balance. Other then that, no big deal. At this moment, I would've been healing Hunter, but since he was in-between combat, not a chance.

The temperature kept dropping. Soon enough the pool would freeze solid and water would no longer be attainable from it.
