Star lay face-down on the ground. Her beaten, broken body shuddered and twitched, bleeding from every wound. She didn't bother getting up. She didn't want to. Her mind was gradually coming back so it could accept her death, and Star knew that if she moved too much it might slip away. She figured it was best to pretend she was dead for the moment. Ugh, I wanted to get farther in the Games then this! she stormed. And I can't even open my eyes to see all the blood! This is just plain unfair. Her bloody lips cracked a hidden smile, mentally laughing at herself. You are so strange, Star. she told herself, wondering what death would be like. She hoped it wouldn't be this painful. Another reason she couldn't move was that fact that her body was in too much pain to do anything but complain, breathe, and spasm occasionally. Suddenly, she figured that maybe she could at least make herself in less pain, or try to heal a little so her death would be quick and she'd have a chance to see a little of her own blood. Star felt around for the 1/4-full water skin she was carrying, wishing she had some strength left so she could scoop some more up from the ice. She poured it over the wounds she could reach without moving anything but her arm to try and wash some of the dirt off, then tore a few strips of clean fabric from her shoulder with the edge of her spear and put it over the worst of those injuries. She alternated between raising her arms above her heart (after all, the does have injuries there too) and pressing on the cloth-covered wounds or the veins near them that would help cease blood flow. She knew it wouldn't help much, but it would be better than nothing.

PLEASE NOTE:

(I'm not sure if she can 'heal,' because she doesn't have a first aid kit and is dying, but I know 6 has a healing bonus, so I'm going to heal, but select 'other' instead of '6' to take away the advantage. If this does not make up for her less-than-ideal medicinal supplies, the dicemaster post will just not count and I won't update her health, even if the dice roll is successful, until a GM says I can. Sound good? If not, I can change it.)

Edit: Well, the post didn't work, so I'm just going to let her die, but make it less painful...

Star's vision, her hearing, all her senses, were rapidly depleting. She sighed in relief as all her pain, thirst, hunger, anger, fear, desire for blood, guilt, and life were washed away by a calming wave of euphoria. You did it, Star. she told herself, pleased. You died. But more importantly, you made it through the reaping and through saying goodbye. You met your dad's new husband for the first time. You got an 8 on your private session. You got through the interviews and the parade and even the bloodbath. You made an ally, lost an ally, inflicted some injuries, and saw some blood. You were saved by an inanimate object, you got through the dungeon, and you met some other tributes. You went insane, you hurt them, and you just kept on fighting. But that's okay. You got your mind back. You don't need to keep fighting anymore, Star. It's over. Now go and do what you've always wanted to do: meet some spirits. After all, you're one of them, now, Star, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Let go of all your regrets, each and every one, and say goodbye.

And with that, Star whispered a final farewell to the everything she had ever known or loved or hated or forgotten about or cared for, hoped the other tributes would know that she didn't blame them, said goodbye to herself, and, for the second time in one week, but in a completely different way, let go.
