| The boy from eight had closed his eyes, waiting for the impact that he thought would kill him. However, when he did finally land, he found that he seemed to be alright. He slowly opened his eyes and sat up, looking at his surroundings. He looked around, trying to find any noticeable landmarks. Part of him was still thinking about what he had just experienced, but the other pushed it away from his mind, not wanting to think about that. It had just five seconds ago, but still, it wasn't exactly good for you to think about your mother throwing you to what you think might be your death. | |

| He could see a large river, too big too cross, with a clearly broken bridge across it a little ways off in the distance. |

| As he looked around, Shaun noticed a river. Huh...kinda hard to miss that actually. He looked for a way to get across and saw a bridge...a broken bridge. He sighed looked away and then back at the bridge. Well...might as well start somewhere, right? He adjusted his shield and twirled his sword a bit before walking towards the bridge, wondering how broken exactly it was...or if there would be some sort of riddle to help him with this too. Doubtful, but hey? Might as well try. | |

| There was a plaque on Shaun's side of the river, about ten feet away. If Shaun tried to walk on the bridge, it would likely collapse. |

| Shaun saw a plaque as he got closer, luckily on the same side of the river he was on. He approached, deducing that going on the bridge would be a pretty bad idea considering it looked like it could collapse at any second. He stood in front of the plaque, trying to make out what it said. Hopefully it wasn't some ancient or weird language. That would really suck...

| This bridge had 200 hundred men who worked on it and the all worked for a long 30 days until they got to the completing it. Although it only took one cause for the bridge to come crumbling down again. That was the band of Sirens that called themselves the Gamma Raid. 20 men died trying to save the bridge. 1 year later the men grew the courage to come back, and rebuild, this time only 33 men came to help. It took a long 200 days to complete this bridge yet again, as they used one strong material to keep it together stronger. Two days later, three sirens showed up and flirted with a man watching the bridge, and within one week that man had died on his next shift. Two weeks later another three men had died and one ran off. The Gamma raid had taken out half the men in two months. After three months the site was abandoned by the men and the sirens had torn down the bridge one piece by one. For 2000 centuries no one has returned and tried to rebuild a bridge. Thirty children always went missing for every year people settled into the village.
After reading the plaque he noticed beside the bridge there was this blank wall but he noticed there seemed to be dials. there was ten rows of three, making thirty numbers. Shaun would have to enter each one correctly. | |

| Shaun looked over at the board, seeing that there were dials. He saw that there were numbers on each and he would have to figure out what the numbers were. Of course it was a riddle...however, rather than brood about it, he smiled and looked back at the plaque, counting each number. He tried doing it a couple of different ways until he finally noticed something that wasn't that obvious. He rubbed his hands together and walked over to the board, changing the first three numbers to "2, 0, 0" in that order. He looked around, trying to see if the board or his surroundings would give him any hint on if he was on the right track or not. | |

| Soon the numbers flashed red. The first row was wrong but the 2 was now green and it was correct. Nothing happened yet. | |

| Raising an eyebrow, the tribute watched the numbers flash red, but then watched the two flash green. So apparently that was right...he walked back over to the plaque, reading over it carefully. He had one more idea, but that seemed like it was gonna be wrong too. But hell, might as well with the guess and check strategy rather than the 'come-to-a-wrong-conclusion-after-a-day' plan. He walked back over to the dials and turned the one next to the 2, to three so that it now said "2 3 0". The zero was still wrong of course, but he needed to take this at least one at a time before he figured this thing out. | |

| A red flash came up again but now the 2 and 3 were both green. Nothing still had happened for him getting it wrong. | |

| Shaun smiled as the three turned green. Now for the last one...the others had been pretty obvious, but this one he wasn't sure about. He knew he would be punished sooner or later for getting these wrong and knew he needed to figure this out. So, might as well try to get a row out of it. He began turning the dials, looking at each, hoping he was still on the right track. At first this had seemed pretty simple but now...now it didn't make much sense. Pattern So Far

| The first row locked in and was now green but all the numbers in the second row flashed red, and stayed red, none were right. | |

| The boy from eight sighed as the numbers flashed red, walking back to the plaque, looking at it carefully once more. There had to be a pattern...but what? The one he originally had stopped on the first row. He thought for a moment, sitting down as began to think. And think. And think...then his eyes popped open as he got an idea and he muttered, "Maybe...I'm just doing it the wrong way." Shaun got back, up, walking up the the board, and began to turn the dials once more. He stepped back, hoping he had finally gotten it...well, the first column at least. - The Pattern So Far:
2 3 1 0 - - 0 - - 3 - - 0 - - 1 - - 2 - - 0 - - 1 - - 3 - -

| Shaun's combination was wrong. His pattern confused the alternate GM, but she knew it was wrong. ((this post may be edited)) |

| Shaun decided he really hated this puzzle. What the hell was the pattern? He knew everyone at home had probably figured it out already, but he had no clue whatsoever as to what it could be. He began to look around, wondering if there was anything that was stopping him from just leaving and going in a different direction. Cause even though he absolutely hated the prospect, he wanted to quit now. Even if it was embarrassing, hell, this thing would probably kill him eventually. He sighed and continued scanning the area for anything that may try to brutally murder him if he tried to leave. | |

| Shaun wondered if he should stop trying to focus on the pattern and start using the riddle, in addition to not focusing at much on 0's. There was nothing physically stopping him from leaving, but there were a lot of growling sounds coming from the forest and it looked very dangerous. |

| Shaun sighed as he heard the growling sounds from the forest. He looked back to the dials and thought about paying more attention to the riddle instead of the pattern...but that's where he was getting the pattern from. The zero's obviously meant nothing, so that was out...the 231 thing made sense in his head, but by using the next three numbers listed in the riddle it was wrong...all wrong. So, he decided to do the next best thing. Pull a guess out of thin air. He began to turn the dials on the second row. Might as well just count backwards. No other good ideas from him...yet. Pattern so far

| The second row flashed wrong. A slip of paper floated down that said: "Sometimes the end of something is just like a new beginning." |

| Shaun watched as a paper floated from above and he snatched it out of the air. He scanned over it quickly and laughed, looking around. "You guys have to be all cryptic about it, don't ya?" He set the paper aside looking back to the dials. The paper could mean one of two things...either what he had so far, or the riddle itself. Might as well start with his first idea. He turned the dials on the second row once more. At this point he wasn't even hopeful, but hey, at least now he had a back-up plan. That was also probably wrong. Current Numbers

| Shaun got it right that time, which made him smile. He hadn't seen more green numbers in a while. However, despite getting it right, he still had no clue what the numbers had to do with what the plaque said. He decided to go with more 'guess until you find something that works'. So, he walked over to the dials and turned each one on the third row. Would these numbers prove to be better? Probably not. Plus, he was pretty sure he put these in on the last row...but hey, it was what he could come up with so why not? Not like he had anywhere to be...unless the GM's had some sort of amazing plan for him. Numbeeerrrs

| Shaun grinned this time, throwing his hands into the air feeling victorious. However, it wasn't over yet. He rubbed his hands together, turning the dials. Did he figure out what it was yet? Not even close. But, he still had a few guesses up his sleeve. Might as well put them to...decent use. He began to turn the dials of the fourth row, not even sure what to think anymore about the numbers being right or wrong. Numeralsssss
