Dane just shrugged at Auralee's comment. "Yea, not bad. I just know better then to get too involved with crazy. I've had a few bad experiences." The boy from 10 stabbed forwards at his opponent. He hoped for a hit because it seemed Iike neither of them had gotten one in a few exchanges and he wasn't sure if it was because they were tired or if they were too fast for the other person to hit. He suspected the first option though. "Well Angel, I can tell you many ladies actually like that I take my time. Quickies aren't as fun you see." Dane winked over to her as he stuck his head up and over his shield, waiting now for another attack to maybe be thrown his way.

"Hey everything is pretty exciting for a simple ranch hand like myself. I mean, the constant threat of death and slowly bleeding out kind of makes this a little exciting don't you think? Sorry if I'm not rocking your world more, guess I'll have to thrust a little bit harder now." Dane stabbed forwards towards Auralee as he lifted the shield in his other hand up to block her incoming knife attack. It almost threw him off balance, even though he had been using the shield for awhile now it was still kind of big and an awkward shape. It really wasn't the easiest thing to maneuver as you'd think just by watching anyone using it through a screen. He could feel the sweat moving down his brow, if this could end soon it would be amazing but right now it seemed like they were both still fighting, so who knew anymore when it would actually end. He hoped sooner rather then later. Dane backed up keeping the shield near him, to keep himself prepared and ready for the next round of attacks. He really would hate to die now after all of this. "Come on Angel, am I not exciting enough for you now? Just gonna toss me aside like your last boy toy without getting a proper ride out of me?" Dane grinned widely, teeth showing towards Auralee.

"Oh Angel, if you worked hard at it believe me you could get more noise out of me. The stabbing thing isn't really helping you know." Dane raised the shield again thinking an attack would come his way but never really heard the clunk against the shield like he usually heard when it would block. So while Auralee was close he stabbed right towards her torso or arm, he couldn't really tell what part of her body it was as he cowered behind his shield. The sweat dripped down his brow as his breathing got heavier. The exhaustion may kill him before his stab wounds did.

"Wow Angel, I gotta say that was pretty bad. Not bad for a first attempt though. It's not like you could ever be as good as me though." Dane again kept the shield right firmly in front of him. It was like his safety blanket now. If he even saw Auralee's hand twitch it would be at the ready, waiting to try and deflect anything he deemed dangerous. The boy then lunged forwards stabbing towards Auralee again. "Besides Angel, I'm the one who would he doing all the stabbing. Attacking and otherwise."

Dane pushed forwards and backed away after his right hand carrying the knife stabbed at Auralee. Everything happened fast, like a blur that he wasn't even sure what happened or what was currently going on entirely. All he knew was that when he lifted his arm back up to use his shield his body slumped and even though he tried to catch himself it was no use. Dane's knees buckled under the exhaustion and he dipped down to the ground now covered in a mix of Luna, Leon, Auralee's and even his own blood. This was it, his death was coming and he knew it. He had no strength left to save himself let alone try and go in for another attack. Dane knew this was the end as he dipped his head down and waited for that knife to stab him as he was vulnerable, he knew he couldn't stop it as he grit his teeth and Waited in agony. Waiting and waiting, wishing that he could have just held on a few more minutes, but no his arms were refusing to budge, all he could do was hold himself up and even that was proving difficult.

But nothing happened; no hit, no pain. Just a cannon. One he assumed was for him and that dying maybe was just as painless as he thought, because really at the end of the day he had already been experiencing a dull pain throughout this whole time as he pushed himself through each obstacle he faced until now. But when he looked up and the lights began to come up revealing more of the arena then he had seen in the past days he saw Auralee's lifeless figure drop to the ground questions arose. Was it really over? Was his mind playing tricks on him?  Maybe this was some weird fever dream people had before dying? Dane honestly couldn't tell the difference, he was just too tired to know.

Dane lifted his body up, shield clanging as it dropped to the hard floor beneath him and followed by the metallic echo of the knife bouncing up and down. This seemed real, but Dane couldn't tell for sure anymore. How could he possibly win? He knew everyone thought he was going to die, he even thought he was going to die. But here he was a winner? A victor who would join the ranks of Derald and the other mentors? It was almost obscure and yet...real. Yes, it was real as the world came back to reality for him and It solidified this fact. Dane had won the Hunger Games. Even though most would say that was impossible it wasn't, because here he was standing alive.

Dane moved forwards as his legs for the first time had to try and do some real work again. Slowly he felt himself almost hobbling towards the light that was revealed by the now unlocked door. The boy felt himself stop though as he was able to look now and think on the other 3 he had seen die right in front of him here. Luna, Leon and Auralee. He couldn't think of the words to say and so he didn't. Because his words would mean nothing now. He was alive and they weren't. "looks like I'm not invited to the hell party after all." Dane dipped his head in a moment of silence for them, paying close attention to Auralee who seemed to lose the most from these games. Then he turned and walked to the light, walked towards home and promises of a full life that had come with 23 sacrifices.

Thank you all for making my last games fun and memorable. I'll still be around don't worry to RP and talk to, just no more game participants from me for awhile. Who knows maybe in 10 games I'll think about it, but I hang up my hat for now and will enjoy watching new members and new victors emerge! Congratulations to Rainy, Nix and Kitzi for making to final four and honorable mention for Kellie for top 5. See you around, but for now it's time to take my last bow.
