Swan backed up, successfully blocking the mole rat's first attack. She brushed a escaping strand out hair out of her eyes, a glare fixating on her face. Her normally soft features seemed twisted into a negative contortion of anger and rage. "Whatever they are -"

She inhaled loudly. "They are so dead!" Swan spat, trying to attack the second attack from the mole rat. Next she attempted to swing the rock at it's skull, hoping it would be at least rendered unconscious.

Lori snarled, moving out of the way as best she could and jabbing the nearest creature with the sharpened stick. "This is so messed up," she sighed. Lori examined the ground, picking up a few more rocks. "Okay, let's get this over with. You go for the one on the left, I take the one on the right?" she suggested, eying the creatures with disdain. This was not how she pictured her games going, and it was pissing her off.

The creature reeled back from the hit and snarled, the mutts sent out a frenzy of attacks, launching stones out of the ground at the two tributes.

Swan agreed with Lori, but had to try and dodge the rocks from the mole rats first. She decided that they couldn't possibly stay in one place longer than a few hours, if that. "I know!" she called back, raising her rock once more.

Going for the one on the right, as instructed, Swan tried to hit the mole rat once more. They were really beginning to bother her.

Lori blew a piece of hair out of her face and glared at the mole rats. They appaeared to be mad that the girls were attacking. Lori rolled her eyes. "Oh, come on! What do you want, a hug? You attacked us!" she hissed at them under her breath, and propelled another rock or two at the one on the left. For some reason, a strange song was running through her head. Something about naked mole rats... and someone named Ron...letting the ladies sing... but no, it was just a childhood memory, and nothing of importance for the time being. Lori shook her head and shifted her stance so that she was facing the left one, but could see the right one out of the corner of her eye.

Swan gritted her teeth as the mole rat got another hit on her, and she missed yet again. This mustn't be her day. Or week, maybe. "Stupid rat!" she screamed, rage filling her up.

Trying to block another attack from the mutations, her hair was in her face in a complete mess. She was a complete mess, but she was going to win this. Bashing her rock against the rat once more, she prayed it actually made contact.

((So, escape-wise, this is allowed, yes? Juuuust rolling ahead of time in case a quick getaway needs to be made...))

Lori rolled her eyes and dodged as best she could out of the way of the mole-rat's attack. Her anger and annoyance were running out, and she was getting bored. At this point, Lori felt herself just going through the motions: Throw rock at mole-rat. Dodge mole-rat attack. Throw rock at mole-rat. Dodge mole-rat attack. Throw rock at mole-rat, Lori thought to herself as she sent another rock careening towards her mole-rat. She sighed, picking up a few more rocks to prepare for the next attack, and keeping an eye out for anything that would make the fight more interesting while leaving the small career duo at an advantage.

A second mutt dropped to the ground, lifeless from the attacks of the tributes, the third and final one made one last vicious rally against the two girls and then retreated up a hill and over the top

Swan let out a groan of frustration. Would these things ever leave? At least one of them was dead, killed by Lori's skills. So far the girl from ten wasn't doing so hot. At all.

She tried to dodge the attack of the coming mole rat, by sticking her rock shield out. Then she smashed forward, hoping for a hit. "We should get out of here!" Swan called. If these things couldn't die faster, she didn't want to spend more time on them.

Lori grinned as another fell to the ground. She hoped the mutt battle would at least be good practice for fighting actual tributes. She sent a final attack at the last remaining molerat, and avoided its swipe at her as best she could. Lori heard Swan suggest that they leave and nodded. "ASAP," she agreed, peering around to see if there was an easy way out. "We should make sure to grab some more of these rocks, too, for later on." As she spoke, she picked up some more rocks, and a stick or two as well, just in case.
