Making my way downtown (OPEN)

He looked at her and said, "Oh...right...that stuff..." It came out sounding slightly bitter, which isn't what he meant at all. He couldn't help but feel a slight pinch of jealousy, but he got over it. He sat in silence, except for the noises of his eating.

I sighed and shook my head."Sorry for yelling at you.I shouldn't have.I just don't react nice when people critisize what I do for a living"I explained

He sighed as well and said, "It's alright...wasn't trying to criticize you...at least you have a skill that can get you money." He keeps eating and after a little bit he says, "So...got any ideas on how I can entertain myself for a few hours?" He looks at her, smiling again.

I wiped my eyes and looked up at him,smiling."You can...um...go hang out with your friends?"I suggested

Dralin smiled more and said, "Ehh...they're all probably training...or working. Plus none of them are a beautiful girl in a house with me alone..." He added the last part in, joking. His grin made it obvious and he kept eating, finishing a minute after.

"I won't disagree but I won't be really able at that time"I replied and rubbed my forehead

"Ahh...right...how's it healing up? Is it doing better?" He asked. He had been a bit concerned before, but now he was pretty sure that she was alright...although, he knew that he shouldn't have worried...but he didn't know why he did...

"It's going to be fine.And if anything goes wrong..well...Brad's the doctor's first born son..."I mumbled and rubbed the back of my neck awkardly

Dralin sighs and says, "Listen...if you don't like doing what you do so much, why do you keep doing it? You could get another job...hell, I'd be willing to find a job if you stopped what you were doing...I hate seeing people sad...especially when they've suffered enough..." and as he says the last part, he brushes her hair near her forehead and smiles, a friendly smile this time.

"The thing is...I'm not exactly suffering....You know....Sometimes...Can we not talk about it?At least not right now"I told him and looked away

He put a hand on her shoulder and said, "Sophie...as much as I know how it sucks to talk about bad stuff in your life...it helps if you tell someone else." His tone sounded like he genuinely cared, and moved over a little bit, closer to her, but still a normal distance away.

I mumbled and stood up."It's not a bad thing,ok?I chosed it.And when you chose something,it means you like it!Get that?"I yelled at him

He bit his lip and stood up as well. "Yeah I get it. You enjoy having sex for money. And if that's what you like, I ain't gonna judge you. But what I don't understand is why you sacrifice your reputation. You have potential to do more than just what you do now...but if you like that, keep doing it. Nobody's stopping you, people are even encouraging you. And it makes me sick, walking through the streets and school, hearing what guys say about you. But what I think doesn't really matters, does it? So do whatever you want with your life." He turned around and went over to the door, opening it and shutting it behind him. He didn't slam it, but he was obviously mad. He sighed as he walked away from the house. Part of him thought he acted irrationally...but the other was to angry to care.

"Dralin,Dralin wait!"?"I called out to him but it was too late.I crumbled on the floor and took a deep breathe,but it couldn't help.The tears slowly fell from my eyes as I let out a strangled sob"I'm sorry"I whispered and banged my head against the wall.

As Dralin started walking away, he couldn't stay mad. It wasn't like him at all. He was always forgiving...so that's why he sighed and walked back to the house and walked in. He looks at her on the ground and shakes his head. "I'm way too forgiving..." He walks over to her and says, "But take this as a first...strike I guess..."

I couldn't look at him,turning my eyes on the ground in shame."I'm sorry"I whispered and bit my knee to avoid crying in front of him

He sighs again and says, "No, I'm sorry...what I said was pretty harsh...even if it is true." He stepped closer to her and sat on the ground. "I accept your apology...sort of...now, do you forgive me for what I said?"

I hugged him tightly and buried my face on his shirt."I'm sorry!"I cried,not being able to hold back the tears anymore

He was shocked when she hugged him and he hugged her back and said, "Umm...not the response I was expecting but...this is a lot better than I thought..." and he smiles, still holding her.

I choked out a giggle and smiled at him."I'm sorry,Dralin.But,that's who I am.Neither you nor I can change it.You should know who I am before deciding to befriend me.And you'll have to suffer the consequenses if you want to live here.That's all I'm asking from you,to be the person I was looking for.Someone I can lean on,who would accept me like that and who'd be my only true friend.It's not too much,is it?"I asked,calmer than I thought I'd be

He smiled at her, a slightly sad smile and said, "But only a friend...that's all I ever will be to everyone else...a friend. But...it's alright. I...I can live with it." He kept the sadness out of his voice, but it was obvious in his eyes. He knew she would never feel the relationship between them as a romantic one...but one could still hope. And that's what he did.

"Sometimes you must say no to things to succeed in something else.I never had a boyfriend.Multiple lovers,yes,but never someone who really loved me and cared.And that's because I'd never want to hurt such a sweet guys.But that'd happen with what I do.So,I'm sorry,but yes,you'll just be a friend to me.My only friend."I explained and kissed his forehead

He sighs and he grabs his head in frustration. "Life is so unfair...I'm so close to the most beautiful girl in District 2, and nothing will happen between us...it sucks..." He lets go of his head and lies down, arms at his side. "I must sound like a brat, don't I?"

I smiled and kissed his forehead."I just don't want to hurt you,Dralin."I said softly and caressed his cheek

Dralin looks at her and smiles again, a lot more sadness showing now. "To be honest, I think I'd rather be hurt if I could have even one kiss..." he says, looking straight into her eyes. "But...that's probably just the 'I just woke up' talking..." He smiled wider and continued to look at her.
