Disappearing... for now, or for good?

Rafe took the last hit, almost right beside the bandage he'd just applied. Well, that's choice attacking, isn't it. He looked back up from his chest, ready to attack, but Len was on the ground. He heard a Cannon Sound. It was... over? He stood up, dropped his swords to the ground, and opened his backpack, pulling out Snuggles, he did what he'd been waiting most of the games to do, ever since he got that bear. He hoisted the thing over his head and yelled in happiness, before coughing and spitting up some blood. "Well, wounds will do that" he says, looking for the Hovercraft, and before grabbing the ladder, he looked at Lenina Cross's body, and nodded to it, watched it get taken away by another hovercraft. That was all he needed to do.

Lenina felt the dagger go into Rafe's body but then as soon as it did she felt her body being to collapse. She fell first to her knees then put her arms out to catch her body and as she did she could feel the blood begin to seep out of her mouth. A couple of coughs and some splatters on the stone floor later, she could feel her breathing slow and her eyelids beginning to get heavy. She looked up at Rafe, knowing that she was basically dead now, but instead of her normal grin or even the half hearted smile that she normally wore, what crept onto her face was a smile that was much like the ones she used to wear when she was a younger, more innocent version of herself. "Thank you," was all she could weakly get out before she fell all the way down to the ground.

Lenina weakly turned herself onto her back and let her labored breathing start to slow and relax a bit. She had always thought that she was meant to win the games, that it was her destiny to be the best. But as she lay there now on the cold floor she couldn't help but think that maybe her purpose was always to die. That maybe she was meant to help her ally, Rafe, win in the end. "We're meant to die...its what makes everything about us matter. Everything we have ever done up to the point where our lives end is then solidified by our death. It doesn't matter now, and I guess maybe...maybe I needed this to be how things ended up." "Well it looks like someone is getting philosophical now." The gruff voice of her father spoke up in her mind, to which Lenina laughed a bit in response to before responding in her head. "Shutup. She relaxed her head bit before continuing on in her head. "God, it feels like forever since I have gotten to just lie down and rest. I guess it won't hurt to start now." Those were the last thoughts from Lenina's mind as she began to slip.

Lenina's breaths began to get short and choppy as the liquid filled her lungs and a lone tear left her eye and fell down the sides of her face, outlining its path on her dirty face. As the hovercraft started to come above her, Lenina Cross' eyelids began to shut for the final time and as it lifted her up she finally gave up her fight and let her body fall into a state of permantent sleep.

R.I.P Lenina Cross, one BA career chick whose ruthless abandon and inability to give up got her this far.
