I had left the justice building and now I was being escorted onto the train. When I got on I was in the compartment with mostly all the food and drinks. I looked at it, I hadn't seen this much food before in my life. I ended up over by the table and I found a pale yellow drink I couldn't figure out what it was but I took a small glass. I took a sip and noticed it was bitter yet very sweet at the same time, I kind of liked it. I then seated myself done and stared around the compartment.

Franklin skips into the compartment and almost jumps into the seat across from the girl. She looked young, but he himself was only 17. "Hello there!" he says loudly and excitedly. "Isn't it just great, on the way to even more amazing food?"

I looked at the guy, was this supposed to be..My fellow tribute? Or no..Was he supposed to be my mentor? I blinked a bit. He was loud, and I wasn't used to that. "Hi." I say deciding to give him a smile. "Uh, yeah sure." I said and then asked, "are you supposed to be my mentor?"

Giving a sideways glance to the girl, Franklin replies. "What were you thinking I was?" he says, "You do remember meeting your fellow tribute on the stage in twelve right? I hope you didn't mistake me for the other little kiddo!" he says ecstatically, and annoyed.

"Sorry." I say and I look away. I suppose it wasn't good to piss off your mentor then. "I'm not trying to be rude but you just don't give off a mentor vibe of some sort." I say shrugging my shoulders and then took a sip from my drink I had grabbed earlier.

Franklin starts to laugh but then stops when he realized he still has to do something. "So what are you going to do to win the games kid?" I say, holding back some bubbling excitement.

I shifted my eyes over to my mentor, what was I going to do? what was I going to do? I had no clue, I never really thought about it because I simply never wanted to win the games but there was no point in not trying at least, if I didn't try though it wouldn't look good on my district. I sighed, "I don't know." I said truthfully.

"Well then" Franklin says, slightly disappointed. "What are you good at then? There must be something useful you've learnt for survival in our district" he says, "If you hadn't noticed, it isn't the safest nor healthiest place"

"I know how to use wires and I can make nets." I mumbled, to me this wasn't much of anything to work with, I hadn't been prepared for the games at all and it was all due to her siblings being deceased but that was common for anyone so it wasn't much of an excuse.

Franklin laughs, "Okay so you can catch animals with wires and nets, which means you can catch tributes with wires and nets"

I frowned at him, "I didn't say I caught animals with nets and traps, I just know how to make them." I say and then looked at him and glared, "Nothing is funny about it so why are you laughing." I said and at that point I realized I was changing into the bitter me, I mentally shook my head and took a deep breath in. "I'm sorry for being rude." I mumbled quietly.

Franklin laughs, "It is hilarious from my end" he says, "you seem so ignorant, if you can make the trap, it can catch the prey"

"I know it can, I'm not that daft." I say calmly to him. "To me it just doesn't seem like much to work with, and also in my defence you've been in the games already and you have experience, I don't." I said.

"Did they not tell you how this works darling?" Franklin asked, astounded that this girl knew so little about what was going on. "I don't know you, so I can't help you until you tell me what you can do to win, if you can't do anything, all I can say is to learn something in training"

I brought my feet up onto the chair with me and looked down for a moment. "I know how the games work." I said and lifted my eyes again. "I just haven't given much thought, I know I'd be good with swords..I've been thinking of doing an alliance that'd benefit me with different skills and such." I said.

Franklin smiles a bit, just raising the corner of his mouth. "So there you go, learn how to use swords, and don't get attached to your allies, ever"

I rolled my eyes, "I don't get attached to anyone." I said and as I said it I thought anymore. Soon enough I sighed, "Well you're helpful." I said and then finished off my drink and set it down. "So what do I do for the interviews and training?" I asked.

"My goodness you really don't know anything do you?" Franklin says, simply exasperated. This girl was proving to be very ignorant, and arrogant as well. "Thats where you make the Capitol want to sponsor you, what else?"

"Well, no!" I snap being sarcastic. "I know that, you know what you aren't even helpful in the slightest bit, I'm asking for advice on things or what strategies I can use, not what goes on there." I say bitterly and look off around the compartment.

Franklin sighs, "If you want a specific answer then you should ask a specific question" he shouts, "I've answered all of your questions sufficiently."

I stayed silent for a long while, letting myself calm down before shouting back and possibly letting my mentor calm down a bit too. Finally I looked back at him. "What's the best way to get the capitol to like you? I know you have to be likeable and stuff but what kind of strategy do you think I should use?" I asked.

Franklin sighs, "Give them a story, a personality, anything that they cannot ignore" he says, "If they can't ignore you, they will want to know more about you. If you can prove your skills in training and in the games, they will like you more and be more interested, so don't do anything that you wish you could do to me right now!" he shouts. "Yes, that's right girlie, I'm not as useless as I seem"

"Why are you shouting?" I asked giving him a 'what the hell' look and then rolled my eyes. "Well I wouldn't think you were that useless, I mean you're alive now and didn't lose the games obviously." I said and then thought for a moment, "What kind of stories do they usually like, which ones usually don't get ignored?" I asked.

Franklin shrugs, "They like love stories, fighter stories, people who have something to live for" he says. Turning to the girl, he gives her a sideways look, "Is that something you have or will I have to make something up for you?"
