The "Fun" Dungeon travels

~Alright somethings gotta give. Since we entered this room, we've had almost three pages of nothing but blocks. Is the dice broke or something? This is blowing my mind that neither of us have failed to miss a block.~

This was getting ridiculous. The audience had to be tired of us blocking each-others attacks. Ella's voice was still one of the few things keeping me in this. She was why I wanted to leave. Any moment now I was expecting the gamemakers to warp it though. Make them scream in terror or pain. Turn their cheers and encouragements to insults and anger. I said something about me dieing. Oh well. "You know, in district 10 we have a saying. Don't count your chickens before they hatch. In short it means arrogance and certainty of the future will be the end of you." Then I try and block the spear hurdling at me. Another lunge might do him some good, so I shove the tip of the weapon forward, just trying to hit. This was definitely something that needed to count.

Then I hear it. The cannon. And Esther's cheering voice leaves. 'The GameMakers are just doing this to scare me.' I think. But there's a part of me that thinks Esther died. When Nathan blocks my attack and throws a spear, I attempt to block but I take it no matter if I blocked it or not and throw it at Nayhan. "I don't wanna hear a stupid counting chickens poem." And that's true because that boy should be spending time counting his prayers. I'm getting out of this dungeon no matter what.

Edit- only block die worked. I got effective block 1st time.

I knew I had lost my grip on reality when I was calling for Ella's voice to help me. I still couldn't tell if the gamemakers were doing this cause they were close by, or because we were both on the edge of suicide. ~I don't know if you can do this, but I'm using it as a block~His spear comes traveling at me, so I scramble over to the left. I go for another slash at my opponent, still encouraged by Ella's voice. The cannon sounds and Ester's voice stops. For a moment, I expect him to go into a rage, or fall into insanity, but he's done that once today; why should we expect to see a career fail twice.

That's it. I'm sick of this fight. Nathan needs to just die. He blocks my attack, but when he slashes at me he misses. I run up to the spear that he missed with amd throw it. Once I do, I'm not sure if it hits or not. But after I stop. Just stop. "Nathan, do you think she's dead?" I know that Nathan knows that by she I mean Esther.

"Nathan, if I die in this dungeon, then you have to win. Esther is most likely dead, I probably will never have her. She won't be able to win. But I know you can, if I'm not able to." Then I swallow. Esther. Dead. It's probably reality, but I shake it away. "And I don't blame you. I'm not mad that you are fighting me. And if you kill me, I won't be mad. But I'll still fight Nathan. And yeah. I consider you as a friend too." He misses again with his attack, so I pick up the spear and throw it at him.

I nod apprecativly in his direction. "Thank you." He might not be the most respecitable person there is, but he did show kindness to me. "Hunter? I can't ask you to lose for me, but if you leave would you try to keep Ella aliv?" this was still a bit drastic to ask of him. I knew he could do it. Hunter understood wha it was like to love someone; I had faith that he would fulfill that wish. Now both of us were realizing our odds of winning we're small.but I could try. I take my spear and block his attack, and then attack.

For someone who was mentally insane a few moments ago, Hunter seemed fully aware of what he was doing. Each movement was almost strategically placed. He blocked my attack once again, and was now attacking me. This was my turn to block. I attempt to block his attack, and the unleash an attack of my own. The world was a terrible place, and no one should be forced into this.

The hunger games were a terrible creation, made just 12 years before I was born. This world was nothing anyone asked for, but I can't help thinking of those nights on the 10th floor of the tribute tower. Ella and I. Without the games, would Ella and I had shared one moment like that? If not then all of this was worth it. Everyone that hadn't made it this far, All those who died trying to obtain our freedom, and even those I will have to kill for my own and Ella's exsitcance. They would be in my heart. Ever since I was a kid I had wondered what lived in the sky. The answer was crushing as I was told that nothing was there. Now I knew something was up there; that once I died that I would join them. With that I look up. There was only one thing that could happen.
I had to kill Hunter.

Nathan blocked again. Continuing my cycle, I dash up and grab the spear the blocked. Now I have 2 spears. But this time, I don't move back. I stand tall in front of Nathan just as he attacks me. I try to block it. Then I look at Nathan. I'm taller than him. I look him in the eyes.

Is this a bad time? I'm not sure. But I begin to speak, and my words aren't to anyone specific. "I'm a career. Yes. And we are known as heartless souls. I used to think that these games looked fun. But as of today, I know that they change us. Throw away life like it never mattered. The minute a child is born, the child has to be scared. We have to ask ourselves the worst of questions. 'Is my purpose in this world to die for entertainment?' We're kids! And.... We need time. I feel in love for the first time a while ago. And I'll never get the chance to tell her the 3 words. 'I love you.'" Then I turn to Nathan. "If I died at this minute, you'd be celebrating I bet. And that's okay. If you saw Estrella again, I know you'd be happy. If I could turn back time, I would've asked Esther out years ago. But I can't. And I'll never forgive myself if I end up killing you but, I know you would do the same. I'm sorry Nathan." Then I jabbed Nathan.
