Running from fire

Everything happened to fast and I could place it and piece together all at once. One minute I see someone off in the distance and then the next we see Hunter approach us. He's angry and upset to find that Esther really is gone, their story was tragic but I wasn't going to feel sorry for him. We all had problems and he needed to get over it. After Flint had his little speaking session with Hunter in a matter of second I was shoved down into the pit. At first I thought this was his way of killing me but after I tumbled down the hill and landed in the rubble I wasn't damaged or anything, I was fine a small scratch or two but not really injured.

I sat up and looked up, as soon as one of them died the other would be coming after me no doubt but as soon as I hear that cannon I have my plan and I was hoping it'd work. I tried hard to fix my hearing on them but it simply couldn't be done. This was the time to check over my ribs. I quickly managed to check them and found the broken one from earlier, soon it would be fixed and I could go home or I'd be sentenced to my death. Now that I had more time to think, I decided to walk and think, perhaps I could find a small shelter or hiding place so if they managed to come down here I could be hidden for awhile. I finally put two and two together and realized that cannon I heard was the sound of Nathan's death. He was gone, vanished and no where to be seen. He left the world and I was here, if I survived this I wouldn't kill myself to be with him, he'd probably want me to live. I could feel tears starting to form in my eyes as I just stood there, my vision was getting blurry until I blinked and the tears rolled down my face. This kept happening until I plopped down on my butt and began crying and it got worse and worse.

After awhile of thinking and wiping my own tears away it got me thinking back to my district and my friends and family that awaited me. I had gotten this far and I couldn't back down, no matter how hopeless I felt I wasn't alone in the games and I never was not even now. Right now I had my dead mother beside me and she was like my own personal guardian, she was keeping me alive. I was grateful for this and now I knew I could be stronger than how I displayed myself. I may not be as big as them or strong as them but I could still win and I knew it. I finished crying and stood up. Perhaps now was the time to find somewhere and just go over my injuries and feed myself with my crackers perhaps get some sleep. I got up again and continued looking for somewhere sheltered or a little hiding spot. Anything would do.

(I went a bit over board but... really you don't have to read anything but the first and last paragraph. The second is an option but what ever.)

"Ok. You take out your pen and paper and work out the math while I stab you. Sound good? Great." I say with a laugh. I keep up what I've been doing when I see Flint swing his sword, but I don't need to. It misses me by a mile. I do a sly grin and in one fast stab, I hope to hurt him.

I raise a sword to block and back away. Examining the rooftop I realize that we are about to be crushed by the soon to be falling parts of one of the towers. I watch as the tower begins to crumble and look back at Hunter. I make a decision based on the fact that he would probably avert the danger anyways, and charge towards him, sword set to stab. I jab out at him and then tackle him into the pit where Estrella is. I quickly roll to my feet using my momentum and watch the stones crash down all around the pit, trapping us. It was obviously the will of the Gamemakers, our current godly figures.
