The water level continued to raise until the tributes were almost to the top of the well cavern thingy. There was an opening in the top that they could likely escape from once the water reached it.

With an opening now above us, I wanted Rune dead that much more. "You like mean people, eh?" I say with a chuckle. "Sometimes being mean gets you nowhere, though. Here, it is," I say, nodding. The opening meant we were doing something right. Paris and I had to get out now. Rune must die, or that opening could close easily. "Look's like Paris' and my stop is here. Too bad you can't join us, Rune," I say, swinging it at her once more.

Paris tried to get back to avoid the shield slamming into her small body. Raising an eyebrow at the girl's comments, she said nothing. There wasn't time for speaking. Her eyes looked up to see an opening, and she smiled. They could escape! Of course, without Rune. The tribute wasn't stopping until she was positive that they would be able to get out of this hell hole. She took another swing at the tribute from eight.

There was too much water to just keep standing. Rune was forced to actually swim to keep her head above water. It wasn't too bad, but it was getting hard to fight back. "I dunno, Jess, that hole looks pretty big ya know. But I get it, ya want me gone. Guess I'm too much of a threat, eh?" She giggled ducking away from their attacks then countered.

The water level rose to the top and a platform rose up under it so the tributes could stand. They ended up standing on ground with about four feet of water, but kept rising. They were almost at the top.

"Don't get any thoughts, Rune," I say as the newly formed platform continues its rise. Throwing my sword in front of Paris in an attempt to deflect Rune's attack, I chuckle. "I wouldn't say threat, Rune. More like a liability. Your District partner is still in the Arena, from last count. Can't let you getting back to him, too dangerous," I say, lunging my sword towards her. This had to end before we got to the top, or Paris and I would've fought for nothing.

Paris felt the floor moving up along with them, so they didn't have to swim. Being the shortest of the bunch, she was thankful for this. "Actually you're more like dead weight," she added, speaking to Rune. Watching the girl swing her sword at her, she was relieved to see Jesse block the attack for her. The girl exhaled, but didn't thank him. They neared the top, and she realized how quickly this had to end. If not, there was a chance of Rune escaping the inevitable.

Standing now, it was easier to avoid their swings. "I dunno, you guys're losin' your edge, ya know." Their comments just rolled off her mind, until they mentioned her district partner. "Ya mean Shaunie? Yea, guess it'd be bad for ya if we met up. But, ya know, you two are pretty dangerous to me now. So we could be even, right?" She tried to distract them before swinging around to hit Paris again.

Sunlight filtered through the new opening in the top. As soon as the battle was over, the living tributes could escape.

Paris frowned as the girl continued speaking with ease. However, when Rune said that the two of them could be considered dangerous, the tribute smiled. The idea of being feared or respected was something that was constantly appealing to the girl. "It's nice to hear that you're finally realizing the gravity of the situation," Paris said with a grin as she took another stab at Rune. Sunlight streamed in, but she wasn't stopping until the water was tained a deeper tone of red.

I can't stop myself from laughing at Rune's statement. "Dangerous is exactly what we need to be, Runey," I say, chuckling. "And don't talk about losing edge, you started off on the wrong foot," I say with a smile and a wink. Following behind Paris, I slash my sword at Rune. Blood needed spilling, and I personally don't want to be the one spilling it from my body.

Rune was grinning at Jesse now. "[color:2d72=FF2400]There we go, there we go! Nicknames~ Runey, I like it, Jess!" She ducked around his attack, putting the shield up to knock away Paris's sword. "As right as you are, at least I started there. Means I have room for improvement, right?" She paid no attention to Paris as she attacked.

Paris said nothing as the other two conversed, she only listened. The grin on Rune's face was almost scary, how someone could be so happy when they were so close to death. At least, that's how she looked at it. If the girl was dying herself, she would be angry and fighting until her last breath. She avoided eight's attack, and slashed at the girl shortly after. The sunlight was tempting, but the idea of having one less threat to deal with was even more so.

"I'd believe you were improving if you could actually hit us," I say, watching her miss again. I swing my sword at her once more. "Come on, improve now. Rune ducked a few more times. It was getting surprisingly easier to move through the flooded area. Maybe because her feet were on solid ground. "Just in little bits, Jess. You continue to fall apart like this and I'll show ya my improvements," she said before stabbing towards Paris.

The water rose to the top and the tributes could now get out of the well, but they would have to escape the battle first. The water level suddenly rose above their heads before moving back down to their knees, but Rune managed to stay afloat.

Trap die to Paris and Jesse to even out HP a little bit. (First to Paris, second to Jesse)
