As he felt his attack connect, he winced slightly but then pulled his weapon back, using the other in his left hand to deflect her attack. "I know it's difficult Mirabelle but...you have to be brave. You may be scared, but that's okay...the bravest people are always afraid." And with that, he lunged once more, not even sure if he wanted to hit the girl and have it be over or to miss and let her hit him. He wondered how many others before him were torn like this...at least thirty-five he would think. Probably even more...

Mira gasped as she felt his blade entering her torso, blood seeping out of the open wound. "Gah," she muttered, stumbling back slightly. The tribute pressed her hand to her wound, feeling it soon grow sticky with blood. The pain was throbbing, but she had to continue. "The bravest people also get hurt a lot," she muttered, wincing as she returned to the fight. This was wrong, this was insane, this was torturous, but she kept moving.

Returning to her stance, she took another stab at him, forcefully like the last. She was hurt, not just physically. He meant to hurt her, even if he felt bad that didn't stop the pain in her side. "I wish this didn't have to happen," Mira moaned, looking down at her dinosaur. She wouldn't ever see Pascal get married, or fall in love, she would just... die, without any accomplishments that mattered.

The little dino at Mirabelle's feet looked up at her, too small to participate in the fight, but he was sad to see his tribute harmed.

Travis grimaced when he saw her in pain and tried to knock her attack away to then take a swing at her once more. "Same with me...but part of me wishes something could postpone one of us killing the other...and I don't want our friendship to end on a bad note. Even if you manage to kill me, I hope you know that I won't blame you for it...but I can only hope you'd feel the same way." Travis looked from her to Yoshi, smiling sadly.

Celestia walked through the red light, which led to a hedge. Finally, there was something other than caves. The girl smiled as the hedge closed behind her. Let's do this.. She grinned, seeing through the hedge. The girl approached an area, where two people were fighting. A boy and girl. They were both a little suspicious, the girl hadn't met them before. Celestia looked, seeing a stake fly towards the boy. She ran up to the stake, trying to kick it away. Right away, she started to speak. "Hello. I'm Celestia, no need to know your names.. but sorry. I believe in cat fights more than girls hitting boys. If that made sense to you.. either of you, you'd understand. Obviously you don't!" She said happily, swiping her own stake at the girl tribute. "Oh, and that's Sharpie! Anyway good luck guys!" Celestia said, at the end, she jumped. This was finally her time to shine. Her's and her's only.

Mirabelle Goulding

Mira winced as she saw her stake attempt at hitting him, but it didn't. The guilt in her gut grew as he continued to speak about friendship and how he didn't want to die enemies. She agreed of course, but it was hard to say much when you were trying to stay alive. However, someone had blocked the attack. She turned, seeing the district one girl with an overly-peppy attitude. Her voice was like bells, happy and free, leaving Mira to instantly despise her. The tribute didn't normally hate someone so quickly, but this person was attacking her for Christ's sake, of course she'd hate her. "W-what?" she stammered, attempting to block the girl's attack.

Her blue eyes flicked to Travis, taking a split second to register what was going on. This career would kill her, would Travis help? Would he do that to her, despite what they had just said? Did friendship apply in the games? "Stop acting so happy, it's a little disappointing," she muttered, taking a stab at the girl. Hopefully it hit its mark.

Sharpie hung back, eyeing the tributes and their dinos wearily. The other two were too young to fight, so they didn't pose any threat, at least for now.

Travis waited to be hit by the weapon...but the blow never came. He looked up and saw a girl that had seemed to come out of no where to block the attack on him. Now he had to make a decision. Help the girl that he had been friends with since the start...or turn his back on her and everything he just said. Well, putting it like that it was obvious. "Thanks but..." He advanced on her, hitting the two metal stakes against each other and grinned. "Hear that? That steel sings when I hit it. You gonna sing when I hit you? Seem happy-go-lucky enough." And with that he swung his stake at her, backed away towards Mirabelle so that he was next to her. "So...pause our little fight for now?" He looked to her and gave her a smile, relief obvious in his eyes.

Celestia smiled as the girl blocked her attack, and the two teamed on her. It wasn't really that hard. The girl quickly dodged the boy's attack, then planned to speak. "Please. I'm so happy to help kill you." She said, raising her stake, slashing at the girl.

Mirabelle sighed as she felt relieved, that Travis was indeed on her side, at least for now. The next few minutes would be noted in her heart, even if they weren't long. Maybe the death of one could gain them passage out of the hedges. Travis' comment made her smile even larger, like a weight had been temporarily lifted off of her shoulders. "Yes, let's," she said with a nod, exhaling slowly.

Turning her attention back to Celestia, the girl tightened her grip on the metal stake. She didn't like this career girl, and wouldn't lose her life to the likes of her. "You don't feel guilty for it?" Mira asked, taking a stab at the girl. "That's a sign that you could be a psychopath, y'know," she added, nodding at the fact. "Not being able to understand many human emotions, like sadness or guilt, that must be a shame." Even though sadness and guilt weren't the greatest of things to feel, they were still feelings. They still made you human. If she was to die, hopefully she could die human.

His previous attack made contact and he smiled slightly. "You're a career right? Thought careers were supposed to be tougher." He thrust his stake forward, hoping to make contact with the girl. He wasn't really liking her right now, even if she did help him out a bit. However, it was still a shame to kill her...not nearly as bad as killing Mirabelle, but that would have to wait. And he hoped it would wait a long time.

Celestia smiled as the two started to land more hits on her. The girl really didn't mind, until they started to speak. "Well, boy. Careers also learn how to be patient. A word you don't know." She said, ducking from the boy's attack. Celestia stabbed at the boy now, smiling. She was prepared to die. Only if she had to. "And you.. girl. Being a 'psychopath' doesn't really matter to me. I also know stereotypes. Just because I don't care if I kill you doesn't mean I won't feel bad.. much."

Mirabelle smiled at her ally's remark, finding it amusing. Despite the fact that she stereotyped most of the careers as rich kids, she guessed that there was more to the girl. Unfortunately, she didn't really care one way or another. The tribute found Celestia's smile deadly and frightening, but tried not to show it. Be brave, be brave.

"I was just stating a fact," she remarked, shrugging. The girl then tried to block the attack going for Travis. She didn't want him any more hurt than he already was. The two of them hadn't had a break since the mutt attack. Mira then thrust her weapon forward, hoping to gain a hit on the happy girl.

Travis was about to try and block the attack from the career girl, but Mira blocked the attack for him. He nodded to her and then looked back to the girl, swinging his stake at her before backing up again. "Oh thank you kind miss for slightly feeling bad about killing us. Truly, it means a lot." His voice dripped with sarcasm and the last word he had said through gritted teeth, really starting to hate this girl.

Celestia smiled once both of them missed. Taking her stake, she stared at the girl. "Considering that I'm bound to die.." She said, twirling her right leg around. The girl charged right at the girl, aiming for her chest or anywhere near the torso.

Mirabelle tried to control her breathing, remembering that if you turned off the 'panic' signal in your brain, you could make better decisions. Maybe her live couldn't be saved, but it could be extended if she controlled her emotions. The sarcasm in Travis' voice made her smile yet again as she sent a strike at the girl, not responding to whatever she said. Honestly, Mira wasn't hearing much but her thoughts. She had to stay focused.

Travis watched as the girl missed Mira by a long shot and smiled, but didn't say anything. He charged, swinging the stake at her and hoped tobtake her off guard. The boy was a bit happy the career was here to fight them. It allowed hom to stop attacking Mira...his only true friend in the arena.
