A tear rolled down the boy's left cheek as he knocked the weapon away so he wouldn't be hit. "I don't know...tell me something they couldn't possibly know that I do. Or do something a mutt would never do." he stabbed at her once more, wondering why no one could've simply shouted two magic words to save him. Why was it him here?

Mira tried to block the coming attack as she thought about Travis' words. Mutts said a lot, and always seemed to be very personal about what they said. She knew that the Capitol wanted to get inside their heads, so that they went a little insane and shed a little more blood than they needed to. The tribute didn't need that in her life, she needed to keep a cool head so she could actually think. "I have a brother, named Pascal, do you have siblings?" she asked softly.

Mirabelle's attack was small, showing how she didn't mean to hurt him, it was more of an attempt than an attack. "He's not much like me though, he's loud and has a lot of friends." The girl sighed, thinking about her family was hard when her chance of death was high. "He's got a girl too, her name is Cotton, and I hope they get married someday. I probably won't see it, but I can only hope, y'know?" Her voice was soft, hoping that her ally could calm down.

Travis backed away from her attack and took another stab at her. He listened as she talked about her family, about life back home...and the anger began to fade in his eyes. "Yeah...you can only hope..." He backed away slowly, his weapons up, prepared for an attack. "I have two sisters and two brothers, one of each older and the other two younger...I'm the middle child. The one who grew distant from the others...I had a horse too. He was family as well...although we had a bond no one could separate...and then there was Stacey...god I miss her. She's probably the person I care most about in the entire world and I need to make it back home to make certain that wasn't really her." His anger and hatred was all gone, replaced by sadness as he looked into his former ally's eyes. "I'm sorry Mirabelle...truly..."

Mira saw the anger fade in Travis's eyes, which made her feel a little more comfortable. At least if she died, it wouldn't be from a madman. It would just be from her ally, who she had though would protect her at least. The goods just weren't in her favor. Hearing him talk about his home made her heart ache as she tried to block his attack. He hand more of a life compared to she... maybe she should just give up. No. She had to be brave.

"I have a dog, or I did. Her name's Aggie. She's a bit of a shy one though," Mira admitted with a frown. Her fluffly dog was just one of the many things she missed about district eight. Taking a stab at the boy, she grimaxed at the mention of the girl, Travis's girl. "I wish I could let you get back to her, but I can't. Not willingly."

Travis smiled sadly as he stepped away from her attack. "I understand...just know...that I ain't gonna hold back. So you shouldn't either." He stabbed at her and then backed away slowly, wishing it didn't have to end like this. Maybe the final two but...what was it now? Seventh? Sixth? It didn't do either of them justice if they died here...but he shouldn't dwell on that. What's done is done...no way to escape their fate. After all, the Capitol's word is law.

Mira sighed, thinking the situation over in her head. Sure, most people would have no problem killing if it helped their survival, but at this moment, she couldn't bear the thought. This was Travis. This was her ally, her friend. Even though she hadn't known him long, she felt like she had. "I wish it was that easy," she muttered, shrieking slightly at the power in his next attack as she tried to block it. He wouldn't hold back, but she couldn't help but go easier on him than she should. Living was on thing, but was it worth it if you took someone else's life in the process? "I just, I wouldn't be able to stand it... I mean, you're my friend," Mira said sadly, averting her gaze from him.

She took a daring glance at him and thrust her weapon towards him, putting more force into it this time. Hold back wasn't going to help her now. "My morals are so messed up right now," the tribute mumbled. You couldn't trust in the games, you had to survive at all cost. Was living worth the price of every sin? She wasn't sure.

As he felt his attack connect, he winced slightly but then pulled his weapon back, using the other in his left hand to deflect her attack. "I know it's difficult Mirabelle but...you have to be brave. You may be scared, but that's okay...the bravest people are always afraid." And with that, he lunged once more, not even sure if he wanted to hit the girl and have it be over or to miss and let her hit him. He wondered how many others before him were torn like this...at least thirty-five he would think. Probably even more...

Mira gasped as she felt his blade entering her torso, blood seeping out of the open wound. "Gah," she muttered, stumbling back slightly. The tribute pressed her hand to her wound, feeling it soon grow sticky with blood. The pain was throbbing, but she had to continue. "The bravest people also get hurt a lot," she muttered, wincing as she returned to the fight. This was wrong, this was insane, this was torturous, but she kept moving.

Returning to her stance, she took another stab at him, forcefully like the last. She was hurt, not just physically. He meant to hurt her, even if he felt bad that didn't stop the pain in her side. "I wish this didn't have to happen," Mira moaned, looking down at her dinosaur. She wouldn't ever see Pascal get married, or fall in love, she would just... die, without any accomplishments that mattered.

Travis grimaced when he saw her in pain and tried to knock her attack away to then take a swing at her once more. "Same with me...but part of me wishes something could postpone one of us killing the other...and I don't want our friendship to end on a bad note. Even if you manage to kill me, I hope you know that I won't blame you for it...but I can only hope you'd feel the same way." Travis looked from her to Yoshi, smiling sadly.

Celestia walked through the red light, which led to a hedge. Finally, there was something other than caves. The girl smiled as the hedge closed behind her. Let's do this.. She grinned, seeing through the hedge. The girl approached an area, where two people were fighting. A boy and girl. They were both a little suspicious, the girl hadn't met them before. Celestia looked, seeing a stake fly towards the boy. She ran up to the stake, trying to kick it away. Right away, she started to speak. "Hello. I'm Celestia, no need to know your names.. but sorry. I believe in cat fights more than girls hitting boys. If that made sense to you.. either of you, you'd understand. Obviously you don't!" She said happily, swiping her own stake at the girl tribute. "Oh, and that's Sharpie! Anyway good luck guys!" Celestia said, at the end, she jumped. This was finally her time to shine. Her's and her's only.

Mira winced as she saw her stake attempt at hitting him, but it didn't. The guilt in her gut grew as he continued to speak about friendship and how he didn't want to die enemies. She agreed of course, but it was hard to say much when you were trying to stay alive. However, someone had blocked the attack. She turned, seeing the district one girl with an overly-peppy attitude. Her voice was like bells, happy and free, leaving Mira to instantly despise her. The tribute didn't normally hate someone so quickly, but this person was attacking her for Christ's sake, of course she'd hate her. "W-what?" she stammered, attempting to block the girl's attack.

Her blue eyes flicked to Travis, taking a split second to register what was going on. This career would kill her, would Travis help? Would he do that to her, despite what they had just said? Did friendship apply in the games? "Stop acting so happy, it's a little disappointing," she muttered, taking a stab at the girl. Hopefully it hit its mark.
