We Meet Again

Preston jogged away from the only freshwater source so far in the arena. His ally, Thomas, was nowhere to be seen. Preston guessed he was following, but when he looked back, all he saw was the old terrain he was just in. But he continued to jog. Having alliances was good in the games, but when it came to death, it was every man and woman for themselves. That's all Preston really care about, it was kill or be killed. Preston kept going, and began to see something up ahead. He knew he'd seen it before, he just couldn't remember where. Preston mapped out where he had been, a forest, a palm tree palace, and a pond. There was still one more thing that he couldn't think of. When Preston saw the place fully, he knew he'd been here. It was the old temple place.Preston, being curious to see what other tricks this place had up its sleeve, walked towards the temple.

Jennifer stumbled into view, she saw Preston but decided to hide behind a tree, she was scared if he would find her.

Preston heard a noise of something or someone. He didn't know what it was, but he was more cautious. As Preston confronted the temple, he walked in. It might have been Jared, Thomas, Summer, or Jennifer, or somebody else. He hoped it was Thomas or Jared. Preston looked at all the scenery of the temple, which was cool for the games.

Preston and now Jennifer heard more noises, it sounded like growling and yapping

Preston got worried as the growling continued. Maybe it was just a prank? Growling could only be one thing, people who have truly lost it, or mutts. Preston stood there, in front of the entrance, looking to see if the thing was able to be seen. From where he was standing, he/she/it was out of sight. Preston wanted to take safety first, so he hid on the left side of the entrance, and went behind the door. Preston tried to be very silent, gripping his knife as tight as possible. The two noises could be totally different things, a tribute and a mutt, but if it was a tribute, wouldn't they try and attack by now? Preston thought of life back home in District Seven, which made almost the whole entire situation act like it never occurred. He imagined the fall leaves, red, yellow, and orange, all fall from the trees. And in the winter, them be completely empty. In the spring, the buds grow, and in the summer, the trees were good as new. It was a cycle of death and rebirth of trees. Preston snapped back in to reality, trying to remain quiet.

Jennifer heard barking and yapping, she was scared enough that if it was mutts she attempted to leave.

An announcement for a feast was heard, distracting the tributes, who listened intently

Preston listened as an announcement was made that there was a feast! It was risky, but he was going to take it. Preston made his way out of the temple and ran towards wherever the Arid Valley was. Preston ate the rest of his apple on his way, making him only have one remain. He wondered if he was sponsored. With the hope that he was, Preston headed out to find the mysterious place that he had never come up to see before.
