Brooding in the Night

Dustin sat and sighed. "There isn't really much anyone can do about Daniel...but as for coping with his loss...isn't easy. Dad went mad...yelled even more than usual. He was found dead in the forest a few days ago. It's difficult when you lose two family members in a short amount of time..." He leaned back and crossed his arms. It wasn't that hard for him to deal with his father's death at all. He just thought it fit the lie he told and decided to say it.

Errik grabbed a mug of hot chocolate that Jacob had made, he took a sip. His head was spinning with all the thoughts running through, he wanted to make them go away. He looked at Dustin, he felt responsible for his brothers death, and would understand if the boy was angry at him. He had felt the same anger towards Jacob when his own brother had been killed. He pulled his hood down, revealing his face, since everyone seemed to have figured it out already.

Dustin sighed as he grabbed one of the mugs and took a sip of the warm liquid. He looked to Errik and then shook his head and looked back down at his drink. "I am mad at Errik...but you're new to it." He says, quickly looking over at Errik. "But what's done is done...the Games are cruel...if we get mad at each other, it won't help. Of course, Daniel probably would've survived if he had sponsors...but the Capitol wouldn't take the younger mentors too seriously...no offense." He smiles slightly, looking over at him again.
