Lenina's Room

Lenina entered the apartment that was assigned to house the district 2 tributes as they stayed in the Capitol. She moved to her designated room and observed the dark slate covered bed and the darker atmosphere of her new bedroom. She washed off all the gold makeup that Flicka had put on her as well as take off the ornate gold costume that she wore for her chariot ride. Lenina looked into the closet to see a multitude of different outfits ranging from pajamas to lounge clothes for her to wear. She pulled out a pair of pants and a shirt that she put on, leaving the costume on the ground for the Avox assigned to their floor to pick up and take care of. She looked around for a moment and touched the bedspread before lying down on the soft bed for a few minutes. After letting the silence hit her for a few minutes she sat back up and decided that she would just sit out in the main area to watch some of the recaps on the television screen. She wanted to observe the other tributes if she could, gain some information and see if she could gain some knowledge on them. The games had begun and she was going to get a leg up if she could.

She turned on the screen and leaned back watching the recaps on the tribute parade. She watched as they showed her and Rafe riding down the straightaway in their golden chariot and watched as the lights hit their golden outfits and the sheer train that trailed behind her. They showed the tributes from the non career districts and observed the few tributes who looked like they weren't any older than 12 or 13, and a few others that seemed like they wouldn't be much of a threat when they got into the arena. But all would be revealed once they started training tomorrow, she would be able to show off her skills and give people a reason to fear the names Lenina Cross and Rafe Terrn. She could hear the sound of footsteps behind her, but just assumed it would be an Avox or even the escort for her district. She looked over and was almost a little surprised to see the person in front of her. "Oh, its just you. Are you bored too?" Lenina said as she looked back over to the television screen.
