Forest Walk

After leaving the storage room, I decided to head to the lower level of the arena. I arrived at some sort of indoor forest, full of trees and shrubs. I decided to check it out, I figured I might be able to find some more food, my supplies were running a little low. I could see some light coming from somewhere. It seemed natural but I couldnt determine the source, so I continued walking in the same direction.

As I walked a breeze picked up from somewhere, but I couldnt figure out where. I stopped for a quick break. Sitting down, with my back against a tree, I took out an apple from my pack and started eating. I was very hungry, and beginning to get exhausted. I just hoped I would be able to find some game to hunt soon, I had not seen anything since I first set foot in these woods.

The ground below my feet gave way, I stumbled and fell through the hole. I landed hard, and fell face first into some sort of tunnel. I picked myself up, and brushed off the dirt. Looking around I could see roots and plants sticking out from the dirt. The tunnel was small, but big enough for me. I looked around to see if there was a way back out to the forest, I wasnt a huge fan of tunnels.

Up ahead of me in the tunnel was a scorpion, making its way towards me. I figured I had only two options, ignore it or attack. It was just a small one, so I figured I would just let it be, maybe it wouldnt be bothered by me. I watched as it came closer, it didnt seem to be threatening, but then again neither did that humanoid mutt. I thought to myself. I held my knives loosely at my side, and continued to walk towards the scorpion.

I continued to walk towards the approaching scorpion. It made no move of attack, but I wasnt going to let my guard down too soon. Pretty soon, I was only a few feet away from the creature, I could see it was an off color of red, almost more orange. The stinger was also larger than I figured it should be for a creature of its size. This fact concerned me, if it were to attack I would have to be very wary of this.

I sighed, very relieve. The scorpion decided to leave, rather than attack me. Before I could get to comfortable, I was approached by a large rattle snake. I had to prepare myself for a mutt attack. I continued down the tunnel towards the snake but I made sure to keep my weapons at the ready.

The snake had not yet attacked, so I assumed that it was simply just a normal snake like the scorpion that I had encountered early. I let my guard down, and watched the snake as it moved. I couldnt help but feel thirsty again, I didnt think it had been that long since I last had water. I reached into my pack and grabbed my bottle and took a swig. The water was warm, but it was still just as refreshing.

I watched as the snake moved over something, that activated a trap door. It was a slide that led somewhere further down into the arena. I was surprised because I had thought I was as far down as it went. Just then the tunnel began to collapse, both my way back and way forward were cut off by the falling rocks. The only way now was down the slide, or stay and be crushed by the falling rocks. I grabbed my pack and made for the slide. One of the falling rocks hit me in the back and I stumbled, I managed to avoid any more falling rocks and get to the slide.
