District 2 train ride

I smile and stare out the window as I sit and eat a piece of groosling, watching everything pass by. I don't think I'll miss my home in District 2. I'm excited for the games. I really am. Wanna know why? Because I'm going to be the winner.

Rafe walks into the train car, his footsteps audible. He sees the female tribute looking out of the window, eating. Of course, a tribute eating the food on the train, that's new. "Hey" he says, leaning down towards her and extending his hand to shake. "I'm Rafe, your mentor, I'll be with you and your District Partner throughout the Capitol stage of the games" he informs her, introducing himself formally. Why not get to the decent start of things?

I turn around at the sound of a foreign voice.
"My name's Allison." I tell the mentor.
I put the food down and wipe my mouth. I sit back and cross my arms wondering if he's gonna tell me some advice. Pttt. Like I need it. I'm pretty capable of taking care of my self.

Rafe grabbed a doughnut off one of the plates and made himself at home, sitting down in a chair casually and calmly. "So, how are you going to win the Hunger Games?" he asked, flat out. These were Career District Tributes, so he'd treat them as such unless they proved to be unenthusiastic about the games, like the two last year. He figured if this girl was arrogant it was useless giving her advice until she asked for it, otherwise she'd just ignore what he was advising.

"By killing people?.." It was more of a question then an answer.
I get a doughnut from where the mentor got one and sat back. I was kind of getting annoyed at the moment but, decided on listening. Might as well. Maybe there's something this mentor knows that I don't.

Rafe shook his head, slightly disappointed by the simple answer he had been given. "Okay, how do you plan on killing people?" he asked, seeking a more detailed answer, to get one he figured he best elaborate a little bit. "I mean, what skills do you have that are going to help you kill people and win, you sort of need skills for your goal, after all" he said flatly, leaving the question in the air.

Well, you're the one who said a vague question. But, skills...
"Pretty good with a bow and arrow. And knives" I tell him. "I can run fast and dodge attacks quickly." I add.
I almost sigh but don't. I just stay seated wondering if he'll continue or not.
