Rafe smiled, "Glad to hear it, pal" he said happily, holding her hand under the table. He looked out the window once again at the calm, it didn't seem realistic. "Weird how such a horrible place that's always so busy can look so quiet and un-rushed, huh?" he said, intended rhetorically, but he wouldn't be surprised if Astrid replied. He didn't really make it clear. He glanced over at the kitchen awaiting their food, he was pretty hungry at this point, but he knew this place was worth the wait, as far as District standards went.

Astrid Splints

Astrid kept hold of his hand, when he had held it in the first place. She rested her head on his shoulder for the time being while they had awaited their food. She heard him speak but she was a bit off in her own mind while yet still there with Rafe. Astrid knew full well, that they were lucky they weren't the ones starving and sometimes she wished she could give back but it wasn't really how she presented herself in public, which was a shame. She came back around and sighed softly, "Sooo" She said as she tried to think of something else to say, before she could say anything the food arrived and was set down in front of them and she took her head off his shoulder. "So, we going to go to your house after we eat or is there another place you planned on going to." She asked.

Rafe looked down at the food set in front of him. It looked good, by district standards, just as he'd said it would be. That was likely the best that could be said about any food here. "Nah, just go home after this for us" he said, smiling at her. "Not like there are many other places to go in this district that are worth it"

Astrid noticed as the food was brought out back to them and it looked good, to any district it'd look good. To district twelve this would look like a piece heaven, in the capitol she bet this would look like trash to them. Astrid wouldn't complain though, who wanted to be dressed in their sick fashion anyways? "Home sounds nice." She said with a smile and then she grabbed a fork and knife and cut a piece of chicken off and ate it. She looked out the window and watched as some little kids ran around and they were laughing and giggling, chasing each other. Astrid felt bad for them because she knew soon they'd be of age and they'd have to go into the games, and she knew even if you won, you changed. She noticed Rafe changed a bit but she expected that, and at least his opinions and feelings never changed about her, which was a bonus.
