The thought that went through Lori's mind as the boy from 6 came towards her was "At least they didn't see Nicanor. He could get away." But it was quickly interrupted by the quick slash of a blade coming towards her, and her body instinctively jumped. It wasn't aimed at her though, instead stopped the axe from hitting her. She looked over to see Nicanor holding the handle and then going to attack the boy. She felt both relieved and frustrated, relieved that the blade was stopped right in front of her but frustrated that Nic had come out of hiding and put himself in danger. Then the girl from 6 tried attacking him but missed and she had never felt so relieved about anything. She moved closer to him positioning herself right next to him. She spoke, not trying to hide her words from anyone listening. "You should have stayed hidden, now you are in danger. You need to escape, I can handle this. I can't let anything happen to you, ever." She grabbed his hand and nodded trying to let him know it would be ok. "I....nevermind."She shook her head and dropped his hand then quickly readied the arrow and pulled against the string aimed at the boy from 6 and then released letting the arrow cut through the air.

Jett felt like throwing a tantrum. She thought she had this all figured out, that they would've kept running and running until the end. It was supposed to work. Seeing herself miss the hit, and seeing Pyrite take another fatal blow felt like a stab to her heart. She never really did consider him a secret lover or what ever she had been thinking those few nights ago. Pyrite was more like a brother to her now, and it seemed the tribute was dangerously close to losing him. "Pyrite!" she whispered loudly, her voice not really responding.

Jett felt like her voice was cracking, and that she was going to lose this battle. This wasn't supposed to happen. Why didn't any of her brilliant plans ever work? The same reason that girl had to have such good aim, she suspected. Jett frowned and took a stab, this time at the girl. The tribute didn't know her name, but she knew that she had to try and save Pyrite. "Pyrite, get out of here!" she hissed, before trying to attack.

Nicanor could see that this tribute named Pyrite was near death. But he could also hear Lori practically yelling at him to leave. he even contemplated it for a minute but he knew that he would never be able to leave her. "I will leave when you are finally able to say that you love me", he replied to Lori who he thought would not appreciate this at all. But at the moment he did not care, he had no intention on leaving her against this two tributes who were bent on killing them both off. he saw out of the corner of her eye the girl take a swing at Lori, which of course missed. Right now the only one to come close to hitting him or Lori was the guy, so he took another swing at him, hoping to finally end his life.

Pyrite gritted his teeth as another arrow sailed his way. He curved his body as he swallowed one of the painkillers from the medical kit. He'd been keeping them in his pocket for an occasion like this. He swung an axe, aiming to hit, but missed completely, so he tried to numb out the pain in his body. He heard Jett telling him to leave. He couldn't. Not without her.

He swung again, this time out of frustration, hoping to land a solid hit.

Lori rolled her eyes at Nicanor's comment. "You are too stubborn for your own good you know that!" She shouted in his direction. "How did I know he was going to say that?" She thought to herself, when a very familiar voice began to speak in her mind. "Because Lori dear, you know you needed permission to say it to him. He is telling you it is ok to say it." Lori sighed, she had honestly thought those voices had subsided forever, but she knew now this was just wishful thinking in the end. "Don't roll your eyes at me. You know you missed us! How would you be able to do anything without us around?" The judgmental voice boomed in her mind as he made an appearance now. Great...the gangs all here again. Lori thought to herself, but quickly tried to pull herself out of her thoughts. She couldn't be in her head this much, especially with two tributes trying to attack her. She stepped back as both tried to attack and miss her, then she readied another arrow. If there was one thing she was thankful for it was that Gunnar had taught her how to shoot before he died and left her his homemade bow. It was the only thing keeping her alive at this point. She aimed once more at the boy, knowing that he was the closest to death, and after pulling taut on the string she released the arrow hoping to hit him.

Another hopeful movement of Pyrite's torso was all he could do to dodge the onslaught of arrows. A flash of light shone in the distance, a rainbow. He still remained silent. Words were beyond him now. The only reason he still wanted to be alive was Jett. Funny really, clash of the lovers. Hmm.

Him and Nic weren't faking it. He was less sure about the girls.

He almost didn't want to attack again. He wanted them both to live, to have a family together. But that wasn't an option. He swung again with his right axe, needing more than the pathetic hits he was gaining at the moment, as well as using the portable medikit in his pocket, a combination of the painkillers he'd already taken and a few small vials of medicines. He swallowed one of them and hoped it would deliver him from death in this dangerous instance.

Nicanor was only getting more angry with every second that went by in this fight. "Why would they keep hitting lori", he thought to himself as he saw the male tribute wind up and try to attack Lori once again. And again he tried to block it by throwing his sword in front of his ax which was heading for Lori's torso. After he attempted to block he would wind up and try to strike another death blow to this guy. Right now, he wanted nothing more then to kill this guy who was bent on killing Lori.

Jett frowned deeply as her attack missed yet again. It seemed that her skills weren't as great with this kind of knife. She grabbed her dagger and decided to try using that. Out of the corner of her eye, the tribute saw the boy from 12 coming at Pyrite again. She had to block him. At least try. She wasn't going to lose Pyrite. Jett was far to stubborn for that. After trying to block the attack, she took another stab at the boy from 12. These two were really getting on her nerves.

Pyrite feels himself getting weaker. Lori begins to get a little less hyper but Nicanor feels a bit hungry. A rainbow flower sprouts up by his foot, but this one seems to have a fruit growing rapidly on it.

Lori watched as her hit landed and as Nic seemed to get a good hit that landed as well. She smiled as she thought to herself thank god, he has avoided being hit so far. But as the axe came towards her she thought she knew exactly what she was going to do. She would try to jump out of the way, and then attack once more. The boy wouldn't be able to stand much more. But from her peripheral view she saw as the girl ran towards Nic with a dagger in hand. Her eyes widened as she knew her plans of attempting to avoid the attack on her went out the window. She could feel as the blade ripped against her flesh and could feel the hot liquid start to pour from the new wound that had formed. But the pain felt like nothing as her body moved towards Nicanor, and her hand grabbing an arrow as she moved. She pushed him out of the way, trying to move him out of the direction of the blade that was coming towards him. As she rolled to the ground she took the arrow that she had in her hands and readied it. As she aimed towards the boy named Pyrite, she just hoped for a hit. As soon as she let go of the arrow she looked to Nic, observing him to see if he was hurt badly at all. "Are you ok? Are you hurt?" Her voice in a frenzy as she spoke. Never before had she been so scared for someone else's safety. Maybe the voice was right....maybe she did love this boy. Even enough to die to protect him.

Pyrite knew that if he couldn't get out of the way of this arrow, he would be dead. Shame, really. He had so much of the cake left. He took his left axe and threw it, knowing it'd be about useless now anyway. He aimed for the girl again. Jett was beside him, fighting Nic. He almost felt sorry for them. They looked genuinely in love now he was getting attacked. There wasn't time anymore. He needed to go, and he could only hope Jett would come with him. He bit his lip to try and drown out the pain. Escape was a fleeting hope. He was expecting the arrow to plunge into his neck any minute, killing him.

"Jett, go! It doesn't matter if I die, just get away!"

He tried to run as the arrow took flight towards him. If he couldn't stop it, he had to hope Jett would.

Nicanor got slashes in the arm by the district 6 girl. Blood gushed from the freshly made wound and rolled down the rest of his arm, dripping onto the ground from his fingertips. He knew that his body would probably be in a little shock right now, which he was fine with since it would hurt a lot more when he would come out of shock, "Yeah i am fine Lori. It is a mere flesh wound." He was angry with the girl to hitting him, but he knew the boy was so close to death. So he did the sensible thing and attacked the boy once more, hoping to finally kill him.

Jett wanted to scream back, 'no!' because leaving him felt like the worst thing ever. She knew that she would have to run though, and leave him. It would hurt her badly, but the tribute knew it was best. So much for that happy ending star crossed lovers of district 6. The girl's arrows were really starting to bother Jett, but she was amazed when he blocked the shot again. Jett saw the district 12 boy lunge for him again, but miss. She made a promise to herself to stay by Pyrite as long as she could. For now, however, she could swing at the district 12 boy again.

[Ignore the second escape thing. I messed up and it wouldn't get rid of that roll.]

The sense of urgency grew as Lori could hear Pyrite talking about his companion leaving and saw as he looked around for an escape. She had to stop that, if they ran off now they could recuperate and Lori couldn't let that happen. Not now as they were so close. It was terrible to think that she would be the direct reason that this boy at least would be dead. But these were the Hunger Games, and it was not really for her sake but for Nicanor's that she aimed what would hopefully be her last arrow at him. She aimed right for his neck, and although it was a small area she needed to try. She needed to stop the attacks on Nic, she needed to stop this fight, she needed to stop so many things around her but all she could do now was aim and release. She drowned out the noises and movements around her as best as she could as it seemed like she moved in slow motion. The arrow between her fingers as it pulled against the string. She steadied her breathing and narrowed her aim, drawing a tiny bulls eye right in the soft area of his neck where she was aiming now. "One....two....three. Release." She let go of the arrow and as it whizzed past her she could only stand there as the fate of this battle literally rested on that arrow.

Nicanor watched as Lori launched another arrow at the boy from 6 with laser like precision. He would tell her good job, but under these circumstances, trying to kill other kids, it would not be appropriate it all. He looked back just in time to see the girl wind up and take another hack at him, aiming right for his leg. He tried to use is sword to block it while in one fluid motion going right into attacking her. He knew that many more hits to himself would make it really hard to move around and could even cause infection if he was not careful.

There was no time to check on Jett or attack again, escape was the only remaining option now. He searched for an exit, anywhere. The whole area was surreal, full of rainbows and apple trees. He stopped for a moment only to have to start running again out of fear he would be killed.
Pyrite heard the gentle whistle of an arrow darting towards his neck as he ran, and turned sharply only to see it flying towards his neck. He immediately threw a combination of several painkillers in his mouth and hoped they would numb out at least some of the pain.
