MERMAID TIME!!!

I watched as we walked upon a lake. Things looked alright, but I had my suspicions, nothing was ever this easy, especially not in the Hunger Games. I also noticed the big rock sitting in the middle of the lake. "Maybe that's were some one is gonna end up getting marooned." I replied, jokingly. Something about this lake seemed very wrong to me, but I couldn't quite figure out exactly what it was that was bugging me.

Jarvis hung in the background, hiding behind some rocks near the Careers. He'd waited for them to leave the cornucopia and started following them from there, silently moving from cover to cover behind and around them. Listening in and watching, he'd gathered some odd information, but that would be for the next few moments to bring up, if not semi-casually. It was just his style of Smack Talk.

Jarvis quickly slid out from behind the rock on the far side of it, he was at their backs, he thought he had seen something moving in the lake, and he wanted to test a theory on that. Running up behind the Boy Career at best speed, he rammed into him at stomach level, using his shoulder to push the boy towards the lake, even if his shove wasn't particularly strong, it would knock the boy over, hopefully it knocked him into the lake water.

Axel plummets into the water, and something on the rock moves, quick as a snake, and slurps the boy deeper into the depths, grabbing at him and pulling him in. 'Come to us, Axel...' they sing in an eerie tone that only Axel can hear. 'We need you... you're the only one who can save us... please... we need you... we love you...' No other tributes can here these longing whispers, but Axel can as they drag him into the water. He is too confused to see what they are, but the other tributes have a better view and know what is happening: these are mermaids. One of the mermaids winks at Echo before flipping back into the water. 'You could be one of us, you know...' she hears in her ear, realizing nobody else can hear it. 'Join us... we need a leader... you could be our leader, and we could give you the world...'

OOC: Not sure if I'm supposed to roll trap dice or something for specialty attacks, and no GM was on Skype and previous Games did not explain very much... sorry. I can add it in if so or do it next GM post.

I was looking at the lake, trying to figure out what it was. The next thing I know I was hit from behind and knocked into the lake. Immediately I was attacked by some kind of creature, they were pulling me to to the bottom of the Lake. I could hear voices, say that they needed me to save them. I didnt know if anyone else could hear them, byt I could guess that they werent gonna help me in the games. I thrashed around hard, trying to hit what ever it was, and get back to the surface of the lake.

I stopped trying to fight, and tried to figure out what they wanted from me. "What is it you want me to do. I will try to help you guys out." I tried to them to listen to me. I kept myself afloat, getting as much air as I could, before they would drag me under, and kill me in a horrible brutal way.

((Sorry, GM dice fail moment there. I still don't understand specialty attacks, dice-wise, and nobody had bothered to tell me I did something wrong dice-wise, but whatever... also I forgot to do mutt dice last time, so consider yourself lucky, Hawk. Also no more white mermaid speak, I'm lazy. xD))

Echo's fan slashes across Becky's neck in a straight line, not going nearly deep enough to kill her, but making a significant cut. It wasn't what the fan was supposed to do, per say, and maybe not more than a glorified paper cut, but it is certainly dramatic. The streak of blood seems almost like a warning that next time, she'll slit her throat. The mermaids welcome Echo, and smile creepily. 'Fight him...' one of them whispers, pointing to Axel, 'and we'll devour the loser... prove you are worthy...' However, another mermaid smacks her upside the head. 'No, Marpessa... not this time... we haven't eaten in so loooong....' Only Echo can hear this, of course, and Hawk is hearing something completely different. 'That's very kind of you, brave warrior. You see... we're hungry...' whispers a slimy voice in his ear. The mermaids lunge at him, trying to bite off pieces of his flesh.

Trap dice goes for Becky, all mutt dice is for Axel. There are twelve mermaids, and three of them are lunging at Axel, but only two attack at one time (per one gm post). Three of them are talking to Echo, and the other six are still on the rock. Each mermaid has 50 HP. They are some of the most dangerous mutts in the arena.

My speech didnt seem to change anything, the mermaids still were trying to kill me. Two of them dove at me at the same time, i knew i wouldnt be able to keep them both off so I attacked one, and tried to block the other attack. I really was hoping that I wouldnt die from the betrayal of our Ally, who was now talking jovially to the other tribute, and refused to help us.

The mermaid smirks at Echo. 'Now, now, dear... don't go getting ahead of yourself. First you've got to become one of us... we can't have a mermaid with legs, can we? We'll just have to take them off for you....' A mermaid lunges for Echo's legs, under the water, and starts trying to rip them off. Meanwhile, One of the mermaids attacking Axel is almost defeated, but the other is going strong. 'It's so kind of you to help us dearie....' she teases. 'We haven't eaten in ages.' Once again, the two mermaids attempt to devour Axel.

First mutt goes to Echo, second and third mutt go to Axel.

With one sword, I blocked the oncoming attacking mermaid. I swung my other sword again, at the wounded mermaid. I hoped this hit would kill her, otherwise, i could be in serious trouble. They were really starting to make me mad, and I was beginning to get angry, but i refuse to let them distract me. I was not ready to die, I had a vengeance to appease. "Echo, focus, they are trying to kill us." I called out to Echo, warning her about the mermaids that were about to attack her.
