Girls With Axes Is Very Dangerous

Aurora as she headed off to the forest with her younger brothers and father. More tree climbing and hacking away with an axe on a tree. She didn’t mind her work long as no one’s arm or leg got chopped off, tree crushing a person or if someone falls from a tree and breaks their neck. All very common during the work day but she’d take working out here over the factory any day.

She had an axe in her pocket as she shimmed up a tree after tree chopping off their tops before someone works the chainsaw. She had to get down before they started up the chainsaw let not too hurried that she fell to her death. She had to make sure she didn’t end up jumping down into a chainsaw’s path if they already have been started. As the sun rose straight above, meaning was time of Aurora’s work group to go on lunch break. She spotted her brother hauling wood, it was fascinating that one brother was built for hauling wood and the other not so much; he mostly made furniture but the family needed extra money this week so he was doing two jobs. She hadn’t spotted her father but was sure he was fine.

After knowing her brothers were fine she sat down on a large boulder and opened her wild turkey sandwich and ate it. She was leaning across the boulder sipping water when she heard a low snarl from somewhere. She barely managed not to drop her water bottle. “Whoever you are come out!” she called out. No one came out so she went around the other side of the boulder and looked around. Right as she went to head back to her work station she heard the snarl again and it was much closer. By the time she turned in the right direction it was nearly on her, a rather large gray wolf with reddish eyes , she didn’t have time to scream just threw her axe and started to climb the closest tree. Not until she reached a sturdy branch did she look down to see that she had hit the bear and it looked pretty dead to her. After a few minutes she climbed back down and touched the wolf with a foot to make sure it was dead, the only movement it made was from her foot. She had to pull her axe out of the skull of the wolf. She cleaned the blood off in the dirt. Then she examined the wolf better, it wasn’t like a lone wolf to attack a human on their own. Then she saw the red eyes and foaming mouth, this wolf had rabies. If one did that means there might be an epidemic. She knew she should tell someone but would she get in trouble for killing it.

She heard nearly footsteps and held her breath. She found a medium sized rock and made it look like she had hit the wolf with a rock not her axe. She knew someone would be arriving any second. Hopefully, not a peacekeeper.

Aurora let out a slight sigh of relief. She was glad that it wasn’t a peacekeeper that had come across her but a girl. She didn’t know how old the girl was but she was betting older than her, it seemed everyone was. She was one of the youngest people working in this section of the woods so she was used to it. Everyone always toward over her and weighed twice as much. She wasn’t intimidated that easily. Now a wolf coming out of nowhere to possible kill her, scared the crap out of her.

“I’m Aurora,” she said with an innocent smile. She shook the hand careful not to shake it too much or to shake it too hard. She knew that she has a tendency to do both of those. She was small but strong. She was ninety-five months of organs and muscle. She hadn’t hit purity yet so she didn’t have a chest or much of hips. She was starting to get more womanly but still not yet quite enough to be attractive to guys.

“Do you work here in the wood?” asked Aurora. It was very rare for someone to come around areas that are being chopped down, very risky. She didn’t know why anyone would want to the risks being so high but then again some people’s sense of adventure is a suicidal fault.
