| Twyla Evangeline Carters District 5 ************************************************************************************ "Wasn't it beautiful when you believed in everything?"
Ty had just finished putting supper in the oven, and was now waiting outside. For being just 15, the girl never really felt like it. She was always doing household chores that used to belong to her mother. Ty didn't always mind though, with her little sister helping. Lyssa was in the kitchen at the time, watching the bread to make sure it didn't burn. The girl was just happy to get out of their cramped house for a moment. The Carters house was well... definitely small. The kitchen sat in the corner of the living room, which was Lyssa and Ty's bedroom. Their father got his own room, which had a bathroom by the side of it. She didn't mind their house, but did admit that it could be more.
Sighing, Ty brushed her blonde hair out of her face, looking at District 5. The view from her front steps wasn't anything to brag about. All you could see was the dismal dirt road, and the occasional amount of children playing in the streets. The girl remembered being one of those children, but it seemed like a million years ago. Back when everything was okay. Now, Ty was caught up in running a household while her father worked. Lyssa and Ty barely had enough money to go to school and learn. An education had cost them a few meals, but it was worth it in their father's eyes. The girl lived to make him proud.
Blinking her blue eyes, the 15 year old saw someone on their street. She wasn't ever the talkative type, so Ty stayed quiet and didn't bother the person. After all, there was no need for her too.
"When everybody believed in you?"
