Genevieve paused, panting slightly. After leaving the cliffs she had come here. She didn't know why she was drawn here. She didn't even know where she was going. But there was a whole mass of boulders, sort of like a maze. Maybe she would find some food in there. Or at least a real pack to carry anything she might pick up. Anyway, the boulders looked promising. Genevieve walked in between some of then and looked around, wondering what to do next.

Genevieve tipped her head to one side and surveyed the entrance looking gap. The boulders were grouped together in particular ways. Almost pike they were pathways. Genevieve stopped and stared around her. This was a maze. The boulders lined the pathways. No doubt once she entered it she would be faced with different pathways. That could be promising. She might even find something exciting. Genevieve straightened her head and entered the maze slowly.

Genevieve was faced with five separate paths to go, she'd have to choose one.

Genevieve turned her head this way and that. But in the end she just frowned. There didn't seem to be any distinguishing features between the five paths. She'd probably just have to choose it randomly. But how? That was the real question. Genevieve sighed and rubbed her forehead, trying to think of a smart way to choose her path. In the end she gave up on the intelligent way. She closed her eye and held up her right hand. She waved it from side to side and stopped. She opened her eyes and saw that her arm was pointing atthe path second from the left. Genevieve shrugged and walked towards that path.

Genevieve ended up at a two way split. She'd have to choose left or right.

Genevieve sighed quietly as she ended up at another split. She was going to get seriously lost in these boulders. "Well, I went left last time. So I guess I'll go right now." she said, thinking aloud. Genevieve was all about not repeating things. It got boring if you did that. So Genevieve always tried to do something different. Apparently this habit had crossed over into the Arena.

The path turned out to be dark and shady. It was not promising, but the path ahead was straight and long, she'd have to walk a bit before finding another turn.

Genevieve peered at the path. She slowly walked down the straight path. It was too dark and shady to be completely safe. If she went slow she could probably avoid major injuries. She looked around as she walked, trying to look for any other tributes or dangers. She hadn't seen any except for the Cornucopia and that group on the cliff. It was a bit strange, but she didn't dwell on it. There must be fighting somewhere else or something. Genevieve smiled slightly and kept walking.

Genevieve notices a small space between two rocks on the side of the path that could lead somewhere. She could also see two paths splitting off of her current one not far away. Where would she go?

Genevieve peered into the small gap next to her. She couldn't see much in there. But it looked like she would fit. Genevieve wasn't very big after all. She was one of the smaller girls her age. Genevieve glanced ahead and spotted another split in the maze. She tipped her head to the side and then nodded. It looked less risky up ahead. Anything could be in the gap. Genevieve walked up to the split and looked around before turning left again.

Genevieve ends up at a three way split, missing out on whatever the contents of the crate behind the crack had been, unable to go back and unaware of what she'd missed.

Genevieve looked around at the three paths, wondering which one to choose. She wasn't going to go left again, that was for sure. So now she had to choose between the other two paths. Center or right? She'd already gone right, but she hadn't chosen a center path yet. Genevieve stroked her hair out of her eyes and walked down the center path cautiously. She didn't want to be caught unawares by anything.

Genevieve ended up in a clearing, with scattered rocks, at the end of the clearing there was a small chest lying on the ground. Before she had a chance to move towards it, a growl is heard. An alligator/fox combination Mutt reveals itself.

The mutt had scaly skin covered by dark grey fur, it had one reptilian eye, and one fox eye. A scary sight to see.

As soon as she got into the clearing Genevieve's eyes were drawn to the chest. It probably had something important in it. She was about to go grab it when a thing appeared. Genevieve screamed at the sight of it. It was hideous, and absolutely terrifying. Half fox and half alligator. What is wrong with these Gamemakers? she asked herself. But Genevieve wanted the biz, and she'd have to go through the mutt to get it. She drew one if her knives and attacked.

The mutt pulls away, taking the knife with it, lodged in its front leg. It whines in pain and growls at the tribute through its alligator snout, and jumps forward, biting at the tribute.

Genevieve bared her teeth as the stupid mutt took one of her knives. And then it lunged at her. Genevieve leaped to the side ion an attempt to dodge the attack. She pulled out the other one and quickly analysed the mutt. Would she be able to get her knife out of it while it was still alive? It seemed unlikely. She would just have to keep a tight grip on her other one. The good thing was the knife was probably causing it pain by being stuck in its leg. Genevieve lunged forward and attacked again, this time holding onto the knife as tightly as she could.

The mutt reels back as Genevieve slashes its back paw. It uses its mouth to pull out the first knife and throw it aside. Growling heavily, it launches a frenzy of attacks.

Genevieve grinned as she managed to hit the mutt again. And this time she kept her knife. She watched as it threw her knife away. Then it lunged at her. There were too many attacks to dodge, so Genevieve tried to dodge at least one. She still got some claws and teeth in her though. She leaped away from the mutt and glared at it defiantly. One more attack should do the trick for this horrible thing. Genevieve lunged forward again, aiming to kill.
