Hand to Hand combat

Subject: Hand to Hand combat Tue Jun 26, 2012 8:32 pm

After lunch I decided to come here, mostly everyone was still eating so I figured I'd go and do my own thing, I tried talking to tributes but they didn't seem to talk to me very much, which fine, if you became invisible no one would even know you or even think to kill you. I looked around a bit and decided to practice a few hits and then after I warmed up I looked for a trainer to spar with.

The trainer nods to the tribute and moves to the sparring mat. "You can attack when you're ready"

Fighting hand to hand was something I wanted to learn, it felt awkward to me, but I supposed it'd be good to know, they wouldn't have it for now reason. I came over to the mat and found the best fighting stance that I could, one I'd seen multiply times, I was keen on learning even though going against a trainer wasn't the best. It felt awkward to me but I brought my fists up in front of my face in a distance though and then I brought back my balled fist and went to hit the gut but then went for the ribs at last minute, I didn't expect to hit.

The trainer blocks the attack with his forearm and then punches at the tribute's side with his other arm as a follow up.

I tried to block the hit to my side but failed, at that moment I moved and took another hit at the trainer, this time aimed right under his jaw.

The trainer puts his arms together under his chin to block the attack and steps back to absorb the impact. He then pivots on one foot and kicks out with his other at her ribcage.

When he hit my ribs I winced in pain but that was my chance and I grabbed his leg, and I aimed for his gut and put my weight into the punch hoping to hit.

The trainer twists his foot to put her off balance and drops off his other foot to dodge the attack, he catches himself with his hands and swings his loose foot at her side.

I'd lost balance and fell on the ground, I didn't have enough time to get up when he kicked my side, I rolled back and jumped up. I then pivoted on one foot and kicked at the back of his knees trying to put him off balance.

the trainer loses strength in his leg and falls to his knees, but swings around with a punch towards her cheek.

After trying to block the attack I made it less of a hit but it still hit me. I sent a kick to his side.

The trainer takes the kick and staggers, than puts the motion to use with a shove in order to knock the tribute down.

I tried to keep my balanced as I was shoved but it was no use I fell to the ground, I was sore but I wasn't giving up. Get back up! I snapped at my self inside my head and got up sluggishly and swung my fist with force to hit the trainers face.

The trainer pivots out of the way of the attack and grabs the tribute's extended arm, he then puts his weight into a lift and throws the tribute in the air. As she nears the ground he plants a firm kick to her abdomen and sends her sprawling.

As soon as I had been lifted into the air I knew this sparring was done and as I just about hit the ground to accept that I was beaten I was kicked and impacted with a matt thankfully. I laid there on the mat breathing heavily. I didn't feel the pain quite yet but in a matter of second I know it'd come and tomorrow it'd hurt like hell.

The trainer walks up to the tribute and offers a hand to help her up. "Good practice"

I looked up at the hand and I took it. Once pulled up I looked at him, "Did you have to kick so hard?" I asked. I then looked around and still didn't see many tributes around.

the trainer shrugs, "The other tributes will kick a lot harder in the arena" he says, "And that is assuming they don't just attack you with a weapon". The trainer hoped this would help her with pain management.

I nodded, "It makes sense." I said and then I decided I had to continue to practice and I shouldn't stop..But should? I mean I got kicked but it'd be far worse in the game and if I had to take a rest then that'd promise me death. I'd take it easy but I was still going to train. "Thank you for sparring with me." I said being polite.

The trainer laughs, "Its my job to beat you up here, no need to thank me"

Rhea walked into the melee station. She just finished eating and after taking such a long break she needed to get back to training. She saw Maria again, and gave her a smile. "Fancy seeing you here," Rhea waved at her. She decided she would give the hand to hand combat a try. She practiced punching the air a couple of times, similar to the way Roe did when he was angry. She turned to the trainer, ready to try it out. "So are you ready to spar some more?" Rhea lifted her fists up and stood with her lead leg forward. Hopefully this time if she landed a punch she wouldn't cry.

The trainer shakes his head, "I'll let another trainer take this one" he says, heading off to another part of the station. A female trainer about the same size as the Tribute steps in. "your move" she says, getting into a fighting stance.

Rhea thought for a moment what her first move would be. She raised her fists in front of her torso and pulled her arm back. She figured she wouldn't hit, but here goes nothing

The trainer dodges the attack and jumps up at the tribute, rolling across the tribute's back on her own back, she lands and swings an uppercut at the tribute's jaw.

Rhea moved her head, attempting to dodge the hit. The trainer's fist still hit her, but only swiped her. She jumped back a bit and pivoted on her feet to send a kick to the trainer's side.
