| The slips in the giant clear ball seem to present many trouble for the children of District Four. The hand reaches into the thousands of male slips, and pulls out one name. Pausing to add suspence, he reads the name. "Kenbert Stanley." The hand then repeats the process for the females.
"Vanessa Wellington."

| Lea watched the Reaping. Someone named Vanessa was picked, and not her. The name definitely sounded familiar. Like she's heard it before, and should now it. Then, it clicked. Vanessa, that girl from the beach. She did feel a bit bad for her, but Azalea was glad her own name wasn't called. | |

| Kenbert stood motionless but his eyes wasn't on the platform. His eyes was on his frail sister. What would she do without him? Not moving, his eyes bore into hers. He wouldn't have moved until a peacemaker aimed her gun at him. Nodding, he silently walked up to the platform. He looked at Vanessa, and he gave her a friendly nod. His hands are in fists and he was shaking. But luckily, he didn't weep. | |

| Azalea watched the other teen, Kenbert walk away with Vanessa. This was the way it was, every year. But this time, it was someone she knew. She didn't want to admit it, but she was kind of worried about Vanessa. She sighed. The Reaping was over, and the crowd started to depart. She walked back home. | |

| Ace didn't know Kenbert well, but he should tell him goodbye. He looked despairingly after them and then started towards the Justice Building. | |

| Vanessa froze on the spot, her nervous shaking had stopped the moment her name was called. Her hands tightened around her brother's. As she stared into Zach's pained face, Van gulped down the lump that was starting to form in her throat. No, she wasn't going to cry. Not in front of Zach. Slowly and unwillingly, she stepped one foot after another towards the platform. Van saw Kenbert greet her, and she managed a weak smile. When she saw that most of the crowd, including her brother, had started to return to their homes, the tear that she had been holding back trickled down her face and she wondered how death would feel like for her's was near. | |

| I had been standing beside Ace, and saw him moving off, I looked around to see where the two tributes were, and started moving to the front near the stage with Ace, they deserved some support, not like it usually was, silence. | |

| Before heading off, Lea looked back at everyone. A couple people said there good-byes. I might see Vanessa again, she thought to herself. Azalea remembered that 4 tributes were the Careers, so she might see her kind-of-friend again. | |

| Vanessa had stopped her tears before she could have a complete melt-down. She caught Azalea's, was it?, eye and tried to put on a confident smile. Peacekeepers arrived and took Van and Kenbert to the Justice Building. The room she was brought in had much luxury, which made her feel out of place. Sitting down on a red couch made of soft velvet, Vanessa waited for no one in particular. She knew her brother, Zach, wasn't going to come. For she had saw him break into a massive coughing fit when he was making his way home, he was still sick. Her dad definitely wasn't going to arrive, he was often too busy providing for the family. Their mother, pft, why even think about it? She was probably downing cans of beer right now, not knowing what was going on. Van crossed her legs and put her face in her hands. She still wasn't over the shock. Why her? | |

| Kenbert had the worst day of his life. He saw his sister, fat tears falling off her eyes. 'Be strong. For both of us.' he ordered himself. But he really wasn't worried of himself, he was worried for his sister's sake. Who will take care for her? Father? Well, maybe if he wasn't a drunkard so much. He looked at Vanessa and smiled weakly. "You ready?" he asked. | |

| The peacekeepers ushered the newly picked Tributes towards the train, they were behind schedule and they needed to get going. They packed the new tributes into the District 4 car and the train was off. (Don't Worry the Capitol will open soon!) | |

| Vanessa glanced at Kenbert and mumbled, "Not really, but I don't really have a choice." She stood up and straightened her blazer. Van wiped away the tear stains on her cheek and walked to the train with her head held high. She had to look strong, though on the inside she was desperate to run and hide from the Peacekeepers. | |

| He looked at her skeptically but didn't push it. "Yeah."was all he said. Of coarse, her sister was there to worry about. He hadn't gotten any self preservation in himself. He knows he will never make it out alive. He just wished he'd left his sister in the proper hands. | |

| Lea watched the tributes leave. The crowd departed, too. If Van made it back, they might be friends. In a few seconds, she was off toward her home. | |

| Kenbert watched as Ace walked near. "Bye Ace. Guess it was nice to meet you."he chuckled humorlessly. He smiled his loopsided grin, even though he was weeping in the inside.
~sorry! I didn't see that.
