Okay, if life blows you away..

((I'm alive! ;w; Won't be able to post as often, but I'll try my best!))

Solstice kept her mouth shut on the way back. This boy is really chatty. When he finally paused, she gathered her thoughts into a few sentences. "One, I have a name. It's Solstice. Two, even if you're a few years older, please do not call me little one. Three, if I have to kill for what's up there, all I have to say is that it's been nice knowing you. But for now, I prefer to be friends, or at least allies." She gave the boy a quick look and sat on a rock. "You're in bad mood, I'm assuming?" she questioned. He's really snappy, and he doesn't have the appearance of someone who's usually upset. Usually. Solstice let out a small burst of laughter. The circumstances they've been forced into is anything but normal. She gently placed her chin on her palms, waiting for his reply.

Solstice nodded as the boy walked over to the left platform. "Knock me off, and you get an axe in your eye," she replied curtly, half kidding. She stepped onto the right platform, adjusting the grip on her axe. Her hands were already sweaty. "Let's see who gets up there first," she challenged with a small smile on her face. This game could be fun, as long as it doesn't kill her.

"To be honest, I really don't know..." Solstice stammered. She hadn't really thought this far ahead, and had thought there would be a bunch of walking. She should've known better. After the boy's suggestion, she immediately stepped left. "Trust me. I'm sure there's something up there. Whether it be bad-" Solstice paused, making sure her weapon stayed in her hands. "-or good." But knowing the Gamemakers, it probably won't be as easy as the other tribute said. "I never caught your name," Solstice realized, shifting herself to a better position. "And we never discussed your reward."

The mountain grumbled under the tributes weight and the platforms both tributes had chosen collapsed. They barely managed to step back to their platforms in time, and each tribute lost -15 HP. Zeke also began to feel his head spin. He suddenly noticed a familiar girl standing on the platform with him. She smiled, but her teeth were fangs. This was not an effect of the mountain, but of something else he'd encountered earlier.

((I can change this to trap die if you think it's unfair but you could end up getting much more HP off, so...))

She hurt herself in te process of choosinging te wrong platform. And Now the boy wants to stop. "You may stop if you're willing to carry the guilt of leaving a little girl behind to die alone," Solstice snapped. "But knowing the Gamemakers, they probably won't let us go." She hopped onto the right platform. If this boy leaves, the Gamemakers will either make them fight or kill one of them off. Neither options are very appealing to Solstice. Something's at the top. She has to know what it is. "Once you start something, it isn't wise to stop,"  she added, waiting for the other tribute to make a move. He stared, horrifed, at something beside him and quickly moved to the platform on his right. "What is it?" she asked hesitantly.

It didn't look like there was a safe way down. The tributes could stop if they wanted, but they would probably get injured in the process. Besides, the mystery girl was blocking Zeke. Her face became less blurry and she was now clearly Seraphina Demeraire. She closed and opened her mouth to speak and the fangs disappeared. "We could have been something more. Come back to me." She didn't speak in rhymes like the rest of the creatures generally seemed to, which was suspicious, but Solstice could not see her. The rocks started to tremble under the tributes' feet. They would have to go up another step soon. (( See previous gm post for options for going up next step, it's just left and right again for each though, branching out. I can make you a diagram if need be. ))

Zeke Rails

The boy's third guess was true. The face was like a puzzle, and all the pieces were together now. It was Sera. The bar tender. The one he fell in love with the first time he saw her. The one he missed the most. "Sera.. how did you.. what did they..?" He couldn't understand why she was here. They captured her.. Concern rushed through his mind. Relief now, as her fangs went away.

"Sera.." Zeke said. He was completely unaware of everything the other girl said. Its just a trick.. Zeke.. His conscience was right again. But Zeke didn't want to think like that. "I want to come back.. Sera. But we have to get up this mountain first. We can watch the sunset from the highest place in the whole arena.." Zeke found his hand now holding Sera's.

The boy knew it had to be a trap.. of some sort. To distract him from the mountain.. so he'd fall off. "Let's keep going!" Zeke said, smiling at Sera. His eyes looked over. There was the girl that was from District Two. She was fine. Then he looked down. Rocks rumbling, signalling him to keep moving. Left, left.. right or left? The boy couldn't decide.

The boy had two options that could hurt him dearly. But, Sera could also hurt him dearly if it was a trick. There was also the chance that he could be safe. "Sera. Catch me if I fall?" He said in a lovely tone of voice, heading to the right platform.

The boy went from looking confused to downright lovestruck. And he was gazing lovingly at... thin air? "Hey!" Solstice shouted. As if the situation wasn't strange enough, the boy began to speak to the empty space. Seriously, is he okay? Did the Gamemakers do something to him? She selected the right platform before turning back to him. Wait, why am I worrying about him? Survival of the fittest. Apparently, this guy isn't the fittest. Solstice shook her head. But he's still human...

Solstide's path: Left, Right, Right

Solstice's new platform stood strong, but Zeke's crumbled to the ground. He could hear Sera screaming. He barely managed to get back up to the last platform, and had suffered some serious scratches and bruises. Sera had disappeared for the time being, and Solstice's platform was starter to quiver. Zeke had to go back up the left platform so they'd be at the same level before she could continue. Solstice was far away from Zeke now, though, and she thought she could hear his voice over the wind trying to tell her something.

((Kitzi, Solstice went right, right, right, didn't she? I mean, first right, then left and that failed so right again, and then right? Your post says left, right, right, but Zeke went left first. Sorry this is so confusing! It makes sense in my head but it's hard to transfer to other people. Hope the diagram helps.))

Trap die go to Zeke from the fall. If it's more than -30HP, just take off -30HP. If it's less than -30HP, just take off whatever it says. Feel free to PM me if you're confused by this.
It was -20HP, so just take off that much like you normally would, please.

Zeke felt more rumbling. God dammit. He thought as the platform he was on shook. And crumbled. He could hear Sera's scream, scream for him. As he made it back to his 2nd platform. Sera... Sera.. "Where did you go.." His voice sounded scratchy and he almost went into tears. It was the third person he's lost in just a short period of time. The boy, after getting onto the second platform, went to the left.

Solstice successfully made it to the next platform. "Hurry up!" she shouted at the boy. His face fell as he stepped onto another platform. What the hell is wrong with him? Is he schizophrenic or something? The boy is so slow. The boy. It's getting tiring, referring to him as "the boy." "What's your name?" Solstice barked, steadying herself as the platform shook.

The tributes were now halfway up the mountain. Once again, they each had to choose left or right from their respective platforms. Sera reappeared, this time on top of the next left platform. She beckoned with her hands for Zeke to go left again. Solstice couldn't see Sera, but she thought she heard Zeke's voice in the distance telling her she didn't deserve to know his name.

((Yes, if a tribute goes the wrong way, they have to go back and climb the other way and they will lose some HP from the fall. So, yes, Matti, you did it right.))

Zeke looked up, as they were almost halfway up the mountain. "Okay." The boy took a deep breath and looked at his choices. Halfway up.. maybe they switch. Maybe they tried to get us as far from each other at they could, and now they're reconnecting us.. He was very confused to the point that he was seeing Sera again. -Not exact Sera color- "Zeke! Come over here this time. All of them have been left! Why would this be different?" She was tempting Zeke to go left now, and he wanted to keep walking with her. She's not real, Zeke. Just an illusion. Go right. It may form a diamond! He couldn't understand at all what the point of this game was. After all, it was all done by chance! "I'm sorry.. Sera. My instincts tell me otherwise." Zeke went to the right platform.

Solstice was confused. The boy seemed a bit upset earlier, but he probably didn't look down at her that much. "What do you mean I don't deserve to know your name? We aren't allied?" she yelled, turning towards the next available platforms. Right, right, right. Can't keep going right fiorever. She stepped onto the left platform carefully, listening for the boy's reply. This game of hop-scotch can't go on forever, and it appears the tributes are halfway through.
