| Mirabelle Goulding Mira wasn't sure how to react to the training gym. It seemed like a huge room, filled with various weapons of death. Charming, really. She moved from one location to the next, and eventually settled on the ranged station. The station seemed simple enough, you picked up a bow and arrow, and shot. Should be easy. She flicked her blue eyes around the area, hoping that there were few people around.
Seeing none that she considered a threat, the girl picked up the bow. It felt awkward at first, but she adjusted it like the poster in front of her displayed. She tried to pull the string back, towards her jawline. The string was harder to pull than she thought, but after a few tries she was able to bring it all the way towards her jawline, just like the picture showed. Now she could add an arrow.
Mira grabbed and arrow off the rack and slid it into her bow. She then brought the bow's string back to her jaw, and looked at the target. It wasn't that far away, but it seemed like miles from her standpoint. She let go of the string with an exhale, and was shocked at the repercussion of the firing. Looking up, she saw that her arrow had slid past the person, and was lodged in the wall about a foot from the target. Sighing, the girl tried again, with a similar result. At least she was going in a similar area, right? However, it was still missing. Mira pulled another arrow back, but this time she moved slightly to the right, by a half inch or so. After releasing the arrow, she returned to a normal position and smiled at her progress. She was happy to see after an hour of work, she was able to hit the target. Sure, it was the shoulder, but it was better than nothing. outfit

| Travis entered the training gym, taking a look around. What he saw surprised him at first, but as he thought about it more, he realized he shouldn't really have been that surprised. He looked at where all the tributes were, mainly trying to find his district partner. When he finally found her, he noticed she was running the agility course...and falling a lot. He sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. He thought about going to help her, but then decided against it when he saw another tribute run up to help her only to get pushed away as she continued. He began walking over to the melee station, but then he heard something that caught his attention. He turned around, looking for whatever the source of the noise was and saw that it was an arrow that hit the wall. He smiled a little, but made sure not to let a laugh escape to embarrass the girl shooting arrows. He crossed his arms, waiting to see her shoot again as he began to walk over. It took her a bit, but she managed to hit the shoulder of the target to which Travis nodded his head. He looked back at the melee station, wondering if he should work on that...but then realized he should try to work on his weak area. He walked over to the throwing weapons and reached for what appeared to be a throwing axe. He threw it into the air a couple times, nodding. When he grabbed it again, he threw it into the air, flipping it and then grabbed the hilt to throw it at the target. The blade buried itself in the right arm to which he smiled and looked over to the girl. "Beginner's luck I suppose...even if it was only the arm. Nice shooting by the way." | |

| Mirabelle Goulding Mira was about to notch another arrow when she heard a movement from beside her. She watched the boy, older than her, throw the weapon in his hands up a few times, before hurling it at the target. The sound of the blade hitting the target was a thick sound, and it almost made the tribute wince. Getting used to this violence would take her a while. She was surprised when the boy spoke to her, and she gave him a smile. "Uh, thanks," Mirabelle said sheepishly. "Nice uh, throwing," she added, motioning towards the training dummy with an axe sticking out of it.
The girl wasn't sure what she was supposed to do, talk to him? Was that how people made friends? Friends in the Hunger Games. Haha. The tribute finished notching an arrow, and fired. This time it got slightly farther in the shoulder. "Oh, by the way, I'm Mirabelle." She brushed a strand of hair out of her face quickly, looking at the rack of arrows. "I'm from eight." outfit

| He shrugged when she said her compliment. "Thanks...could be a bit better though. All the axe would do is cut off the arm...well, and whoever it hit would probably bleed out but whatever." He picked up a small throwing knife, twirling it around in his hands a bit, clumsily. He looked at the target, focusing for a few seconds and then he threw the knife and watched as it impaled itself in the dummie's chest. He grinned and stated, "Was aiming for the neck but...suppose that works too..." He looked over to where she had shot the dummy in the shoulder once more. "Try adjusting your aim a bit. I mean, an arrow to the shoulder is gonna make someone hurt a lot but an arrow in the chest might bring 'em down." She also told him what her name was and what her district was to which he nodded. "Nice meeting you. I'm Travis, District 10." | |

| Mirabelle Goulding Mira nodded at what the boy was saying. She didn't think an axe to the arm would help many people, especially if it hit any major veins or arteries. Then they would definitely bleed out, assuming that they didn't lose the whole limb in the process. Blinking at the target that she had shot, she tried to imagine it as an actual person, with a life and a family. Her blue eyed gaze then traveled out to the other tributes, and all she could think was, "How could I stand killing any of these people?"
Hearing the sound of something impale another dummy, she spun to see that a knife was now stuck in the chest of another dummy. These people probably wouldn't have any problem killing her. Mirabelle gave him an uneasy smile, not sure if she was supposed to be happy for him or not. It was great that he was better at fighting than her, but it wasn't necessarily great for her, if she would be against him. That struck a thought in her, what if they weren't against each other? Mira hadn't ever been the best at making friends, but maybe she could work on that. "Oh, thanks," she said sheepishly, her cheeks turning red as she notched another arrow. The girl repeated the same steps she had before, only this time adjusting her aim by a tiny amount again. The projectile buried itself in the left pectoral of the dummy. Mira smiled softly, hoping that she would be able to repeat that sometime. "Ten, huh? What's it like there?" she asked, genuinely curious. She knew about her district, obviously, but she had only ever experienced eight. The other districts were different, in people, career and landscape. She wouldn't ever know the fields of eleven, the beaches of four, or the mines of twelve. outfit

| When he looked over at the girl named Mirabelle, he saw her smile...but it seemed a bit uneasy. Travis decided not to say anything about it, but he made a mental note of it. She thanked him and then got another arrow as she blushed. He smiled and said, "Don't mention it." He watched as she fired another arrow, grinning and clapping his hands together when he saw that she improved a bit. "Nice shot! The careers might have their work cut out for them this year." He chuckled and crossed his arms as he was asked what it was like back home. His smile faltered a bit and he replied, "It was...alright I suppose. Lots of animals...I myself lived on a farm. We had pigs, cows, and I owned a horse. Wasn't too bad." He bit his bottom lip slightly before smiling again and saying, "But, doesn't matter now. I wanna see you hit the target like that again. I ain't lettin' you leave this station until you do." The smile he wore was friendly as he pulled an arrow of the rack and handed it to her. | |

| I NEED ANOTHER STORY thought you saw me wink, no. As Felicity walked in, she knew what she had to practice at the moment. So she walked over to the Ranged station and started to practice with Throwing Knives, every once in a while she would hit the chest, heart, head, or place where the sun isn't shining. She listened to the instructors directions and did what she was told. She felt... weird, how good the knives felt in her hand. She noticed other tributes there, looked like a district 1, 8, and 10. The male from 1, being the career he is was showing off as usual as we were struggling. CODED BY SAPPHIRE

| Mirabelle Goulding Mira flushed at the sound of clapping, her face breaking into a grin. She enjoyed being praised, even if it was by someone she had just met. Glancing back at the arrow, she nodded at it, like it had just blessed her. The girl turned her attention back to Travis as he spoke, noticing how the mention of home turned his expression. Maybe it wasn't the best subject. "Oh, uh, alright," she said with a soft smile at his request, deciding she could at least try.
She was feeling decently confident in her abilities, but that was before a career traveling into the station. Mirabelle gulped, setting her hands at her sides and just watching the boy work. He was huge, laced with raw power in each muscle, which, frankly, was terrifying. Her blue eyes traced his movements as she snapped a knife at her dummy, impaling it in the neck. The tribute couldn't read his smirk, but it made her stomach turn none the less. "Pretend to be brave," she repeated in her mind, taking the arrow from Travis. Mira notched it into the bow, pulling the string back to her jawline like she had several times before. Inhale, exhale. With the exhale of carbon dioxide, the arrow propelled through the air, landing just under the rib cage of the dummy.
She brought her weapon down, and turned to look at the career, raising her eyebrow at him. Maybe she had just shot an arrow, and it didn't mean anything for the average person. But this was Mira, who never stepped out of line. Shooting at a career's dummy seemed pretty gutsy for her, the girl who seemed to always have her nose in a book. Bringing her gaze back to the dummy, she nodded slowly. She couldn't be that useless, could she? outfit

| Eben Dunbryll Eben walked into the training gym and looked around. Most of the tributes were already working at their desired stations. Eben didnt know which one he should start with, he figured he should do some combat/weapon training. He made his way over to the ranged station, and looked over the weapon options. Eben decided to go with the throwing knives, he never much liked bows. He grabbed a set and prepared himself in front of the dummies. Eben aimed one of the knives, hurling it towards the dummy. The knife struck the target, sticking hard in the left shoulder. Not the best spot, but decent for a first time. He took a second knife and did the same thing. This time the knife hit the lower abdomen. He couldnt help but notice the career tribute from district one. He seemed very confident, mostly to the point of arrogance. But there was no denying the kid had skills. The other tributes there were two girls from districts 8 and 9, and the boy he believed to be from district 10. | |

| I NEED ANOTHER STORY thought you saw me wink, no. Felicity saw the girl from 8 talk to the other boy from 10 and just doing her thing, nothing really was happening to her so Felicity decided to go onto another topic. She saw the career, he must have been getting bored because he was watching her and he threw knives at the dummy she was aiming at to which hit the head and heart. She was getting mad at the idiot and started throwing them more forcibly, hitting in the most dangerous spots. She remembers throwing knives at the walls as a girl, to cool herself down as a kid. She grabbed a bow, but she didn't shoot because it didn't feel right. Thinking that she was good with range, she headed to the melee station, hoping that she could learn some stuff. | Not noticing one of the newcomers show up at first, Travis had taken a throwing spear off the weapon rack, weighing it in his hand. He held it up, taking aim and was about to throw it when he heard the dull thud of a knife striking home. He looked over to where it hit, realizing it was the target Mirabelle had been aiming for. He smiled, but then realized she still had a bow in her hand and inspected further to find the district 1 male standing there with a smug look on his face. He didn't like to believe that careers were like this, but then again he knew stereotypes do exist for a reason. Travis shook his head, wishing some people would at least try and disprove them. He watched as two more tributes came over to the ranged station, one the female from District 9 and the other the male from District 6. He heard something else hit the target and looked over to see an arrow lodged under the rib cage. The girl from 8 looked over at the career who then gave her a very sinister smile. The District 1 male stood there for a bit before apparently becoming bored, taking three throwing knives and throwing them into the District 9 girl's dummy that had some throwing knives in it already. Travis gave a silent thanks that he left, but was a bit disappointed when the girl left. He watched as the boy from six threw a dagger, impaling the dummy in the shoulder. He took one more glance at the career to make sure he was out of earshot before muttering to the female tribute beside him, "Didn't think careers were that bad...guess the ones from one and two are just pets, begging for approval. At least District Four has had some decent ones..." He tossed the throwing spear in the air slightly, sighing, and then turned to hurl it at the dummy, watching as it hit it in the leg. | |

| Eben couldnt help but smile and laugh at the comment the boy from district 10 said. "Now, aint that the truth, snobby, arrogant pricks they are." He replied. He aimed a third knife and stuck it into the neck of the dummy. Eben had two more knives left, he took one in each hand and threw them both at the same time, one in the leg and the other into the chest. Then he turned around to introduce himself to the others. "Eben Dunbryll, district 6" He stated. | |

| Mirabelle Goulding Mira didn't exactly expect the reaction that she received from the career. She expected a sneer, or for him not to care. She didn't expect him to smile back in a way that made her question if she was looking at a person or a shark. One thing was for sure, he wouldn't hesitate to kill any of them. There wasn't a thought in her mind that he couldn't either, most careers had years of training to help them murder innocent people. Maybe that made it her job to not be innocent, and save herself from the likely outcome of the games.
The sound of more weapons hitting the wall caused her to look at the boy from six. He seemed okay, better with knives than she was, for sure. The girl from nine seemed to be leaving, but that didn't really matter to Mirabelle. She hadn't seemed to stand out to her in any ways. As Travis spoke, the girl simply nodded. It seemed like the careers absorbed whatever glory speeches the Capitol pitched to them, which was a tragedy. Personally, she was happy that she wasn't a brainwashed killer. Even being a shy nerd was better than that, at least she thought so.
Hearing the boy from six speak, Mira nodded to him as well. At least the three of them shared a similar opinion. "Mirabelle Goulding, Eight," she responded, setting the bow aside. Her shoulders ached from the use of her muscles, and she decided that an academic station might ease her for a while. "I'm uh, I think I'm okay here," she said to Travis, waking a goodbye to the boy from six. "I'll be at another station if you need me."
