this house doesn't burn down slowly

Deluna had left the beach, but the only thing it gained her was an ally, which honestly wasn't helping her much. She needed water, and there wasn't anything anywhere except up, but she knew someone had to be there. Yet, there had to be another source of water somewhere, and she would be determined to find it.

The forest soon surrounded her, and left her uncertain of which paths she had crossed or hadn't. She just kept moving forward slowly, taking care in her steps. Deluna was searching for a way to find water, like a small stream, or maybe there was water in some of the trees. The tribute knew some of the trees in the world were like that, and maybe there was in these woods.

Knocking on one of the trees nearest her, she listened, hoping for some kind of noise to be made. Deluna could just be losing it. She wasn't sure of anything right now; only that she needed water, now.

Deluna sighed as she noticed that the tree was thick, heavy, and tall. No water would help her here. The tribute groaned, pressing her back against the tree as she scanned the area around her, noticing she couldn't see very far.

Keep moving, she thought to herself. Don't stop.

Pressing forward, the tribute searched for anything out of order, something that could be of use to her. Like water. Maybe rain, yes rain would be nice. Despite the fact that she had been in water a few seconds ago, the girl didn't care for it. She wanted fresh clean, drinkable water.

Deluna heard something, something that sounded so faint and almost impossible. Impossibly familiar. The sound reminded her of home, by the shoreline, by the water. She also squealed as she headed off in that direction, hoping that water would make it's way towards her.

The girl didn't consider the possibility of a trap in the shadows of the thick forest. Her drive for water was stronger than anything she had ever felt before. Strong enough to make her look past the problems of the situation, and drive on.

Deluna couldn't be sure of what she was going towards, for her actions didn't have much thought paired along with them. Her instincts were almost like that of an animal's, in the sense she just needed to survive now. She didn't know where Glyph was, oh wait, he died? She couldn't remember, maybe it was his face in the sky of the arena.

The sound was almost constant, but might've been getting louder. Deluna wasn't really sure of anything right now.All she knew was that her feet were getting scratched up, and the sound seemed no closer. Maybe she was losing it. How would she know, after all? The only thing the tribute did know was that she was heading towards the sound, and she would try watching her step.

She continued forwards, her feet still scraping occasionally against a twig, bush, or tree. The lack of vision didn't really bother her, after her icy blue eyes adjusted to the darkness. Deluna still didn't really know where she was headed, but wherever it was she was going there. The sound of water was still soft, and then she realized the wetness against her feet.

Smiling, she crept down to her knees and cupped her hands. Bringing her hands to her lips, she inhaled all the water she could, then cupped her hands down again. Deluna continued this motion for as long as she could, hoping that it would be enough to satisfy her thirst.

Wiping her hands off on her clothing, the tribute sat down, aside from the stream. The dizziness had vanished from her mind, temporarily. She knew that the feeling would return, probably soon, if she didn't figure out what to do next. The girl looked around, only to notice she had no idea where she was.

Frowning to herself, the girl got up, hoping to find somewhere safe to sleep for the night. Deluna turned around, and began walking in the direction she thought she went. The tribute wasn't exactly sure if she was going the right way, but she could only hope to find a safe spot for the night.

Sighing as she didn't see anything worthy of a shelter, she continued forward. The trees wouldn't of much help to her here, unless one was hollowed out or something. However, she didn't see anything like that. Actually, Deluna couldn't see much of anything at all.

As she walked forward, the tribute felt each tree she almost ran into, hoping one would be hollowed out, or something. Deluna didn't dare run a hand through her hair, guessing that it would be bushier and more awful than normal. Everything was more awful out here.

Deluna continued forwards, not having much luck with the whole shelter concept. The first time she slept, it was a nice sleep. Something in her gut told her all nights wouldn't be as forgiving as that. The gamemakers wouldn't ever had such a thing as mercy, would they? Thoughts similar to this clogged her mind as she continued walking.

Almost stumbling over a fallen tree, the tribute perked up with interest. Maybe this was the kind of shelter that could work? Stepping over the mass, the girl prodded around the tree, seeing if it was likely to move, or if it had any animals in it. However, her body didn't really care. Once she sat down, Deluna laid her head down, and tried to sleep.

Deluna wasn't really in a deep sleep, and felt something underneath her. She was too tired to get it now, and let her half-sleep consume her. That lasted a few minutes, until she realized what the thing underneath her could be. Sitting upright, she felt the thing under her, recognizing it as clothes, pants specifically.

Moving off of the clothes, the tribute slid the pants on, hoping it would fit decently. She was taller than most people, so they could be short. However, she couldn't help but wonder why the pants were here. There was only one thing she could figure, that the twins were near. That gave her a certain jolt of uncertainty, and she almost wanted to leave. Almost. Sleep was nice though, and she soon found herself back on the forest floor, trying to sleep.

Deluna debated trying to continue forwards, but she didn't know if that would make a difference in her search. She should wait until morning to look for things, but she was ready to go. Maybe not. The tribute was feeling increasingly inconclusive at that moment. Looking at the leaves that covered the area, the girl huffed, deciding that maybe movement was unwise.

Seating herself back on the log she was using for shelter, the tribute tried observing her current location from sitting down. The lighting was dim, and almost not there at all. Leafy trees were scattered around in various places, random. Deluna decided that sitting wasn't doing anything helpful, she laid back down on the ground, where she was before. Shutting her eyes, she decided to try and sleep.

Deluna let herself melt into the forest, the silence sealing her away from the reality of the situation. She tried not to let her mind wander to the games, or her likely death, but dreams are tricky things. The tribute stirred in her sleep, not waking, but not enjoying it either.

Once she opened her eyes, the girl rubbed her eyes, trying to determine the hour of day. Of course, it wasn't approximate, but she'd have an idea. Deluna hoped to be able to finish her weapon today, or something else productive. Anything really, as long as it wasn't dying.
