Round One: Errik White vs Dustin Ralcom

Errik entered the arena, he had been preparing for this moment all week. He felt he had the upper hand considering his time in the games, but he knew not to underestimate his opponents; Dustin was no different. Errik had picked his throwing knives again, they were the one weapon that he felt most comfortable with.

Dustin entered the arena, and when he saw who he was fighting, he smiled. It was more of a smile to hide the shock of who his opponent was. It was almost like a sick joke to Dustin. Make the victor of District 7 fight the brother of the tribute that died two years ago. But victor or not, it made no difference. Dustin had trained along side his brother before Daniel died and before he killed his father. Now was the time to put that training to use. He picked his weapons, a sword and dagger, and got into a ready position. He didn't speak. He decided to let his weapons do the talking as he attacked.

Errik smiled when Dustin jumped right into the battle. He also felt eager, and decided not to waste any time. Errik felt the blade of Dustin's weapon slip passed him, he took the opportunity, to swing one of his knives towards his opponent. He didnt wait to see if his attack had made a hit, but moved to position himself on the other side of the arena.

Dustin saw Errik throw his weapon and Dustin curved his body to the side, dodging the knife. He ran forward, slashing with his dagger that's in his right hand and backing away once more with the sword in is left. He could hear what seemed to be the cheering of the crowd and smiled. He always wondered what being in the spotlight was like. It felt kinda good surprisingly...

Errik took a few steps back, trying to avoid the attack. He carefully aimed on of his knives, and hurled it as hard as he could towards Dustin. He was beginning to think maybe he should give this one to the boy, after all, he had already proven himself in the arena, maybe now it was Dustin's time to shine.

Errik took a few steps back, trying to avoid the attack. He carefully aimed on of his knives, and hurled it as hard as he could towards Dustin. Dustin dodged the knife easily once more and rushed Errik again. "Come on now, don't go easy on me. It isn't fun that way." He smiled and laughed. It was something he hadn't done in a long time...it felt good to actually feel joy again. He liked it more than he thought he ever would. Then again, it shouldn't surprise him really. It is joy after all.

Errik nodded in agreement, "Believe me, I have no intention of going easy." He replied. Dustin swung his sword and he attempted to block the attack. He then moved quickly to the other side of the arena, to pick up his fallen knife. Just as quick he turned around and threw it at Dustin again.

Dustin twirled to avoid the attack once more, sprinting towards Errik and going for another attack. He focused on the fight, not wasting valuable time and stamina by talking. He began to wonder how all the other fights were going...and also, if Daniel was watching him now. Dustin almost looked up, but then remembered he was in a fight. He needed to focus.

Errik allowed Dustin to approach him, and he attempted to block the attack with his knife. He spun out and jabbed hard from behind the boy, aiming at his back. He then scooped up his other knife, and waited for Dustin to make his next move.

Dustin made a groaning sound as his attack was block and he noticed Errik go for an attack from behind. Dustin tried to turn and hit Errik's arm with his elbow to throw his attack off while also swinging his sword in a fashion that could hit Errik if he didn't block it.
