Meeting People

Talon was sitting in the living room, a place where capitol people could come and hang out. A cafe was open at the front of the room, and there were a large number of books around for reading. The games played on the TV, but the sound was down so no noise was made. He was having a lunch of chicken and potatoes, with gravy, and drinking a glass of wine.

I looked over at a man watching the games, I got a drink and sat down next to him, "Hello, I'm Drew, how are you?" I asked the man, "I love these games, the dragons add a personal twist to me, how about you?" I questioned

I looked up when some guy came up to me. "Hey, im Talon." I said introducing myself. "Yeah the dragons are cool, it kind of reminds me of a few games ago, there were some dragons in the arena, along with a bunch of other mystical creatures." I continued.

"Oh, really? I wasn't here when those games were around." I told him, "Who's your favorite tribute(s) so far? I personally like Triton, or Savannah in my opinion." I asked

Arcadia walked down the stairs, and entered the room. She saw her friend Talon, and another guy. "Hey you two, what are you doing?" She asked as she took a seat beside Talon. She helped herself to some of his potatoes.

"Hey Arcadia, leave my food alone will you." Talon said pushing her hand out of the way. "We were just talking." He continued.

"Hello, Arcadia, I'm drew, nice to meet you!" I put my hand out to shake it. "And also, please keep all hands to your own food, we dont sponser people for nothing." I told her. "A man needs to eat right?"

Arcadia giggled at Drew's comments. "Well are you just a sweetie." She said, as she got up and walked over to him.
"Arcadia, control yourself." Talon, said rebuking her.
"Well I just wanted to have a little fun, besides, he really is sweet." She retorted.

"Why thank you," I told her, "And by the way, Im not taken." I told her, "So did it really hurt when you fell from heaven?" I flirted with her, I decided to go and get a piece of cake and sit back down. "And this cake is almost as delicious as you." I said with a wink.

Arcadia gave a smirking look to Talon, to which he just shook his head. "Oh, and a charmer too. Say, would you like to go out for dinner sometime." Arcadia asked, throwing a glance at Drew as he grabbed some food.

"Sure, What time and where?" I asked Arcadia, "I might be busy at the time so you pick the time."

"Well how about right now, I could use some real, good food." Arcadia suggested.

"Okay," Drew took the advice and got some steak and baked potato. He sat back down and started eating.

Arcadia walked up to the dinner table, and grabbed a few things for her plate. She took a seat next to Drew and started to eat. "Do you like wine?" Arcadia asked him.

"I've never had it, do you think I should try it?" I asked. I had to admit that it looked tasty.

Arcadia laughed when Drew said he had never had wine before. "Yes of course you should." She said. Arcadia grabbed another glass and poured Drew some wine and handed it to him.

He shook the glass a bit watching the drink swish around in the glass. He took a drink of the liquid, he liked the taste so he drank a bit more. "This is Delicious!" I yelped.

Arcadia nodded in agreement, and poured herself another glass. "This is one of the best brands of wine in the whole Capitol." She stated. "So, tell me a little about yourself." Arcadia replied, hoping to get something good out of Drew.

"Well, I'm 24, my name is Drew Manik, I moved here several years ago, and that's about it." I told her, "What about you?" I asked.

Arcadia took another sip of wine before talking again. "My name is Arcadia Haddix, I have lived here in the capitol all my life. I used to be the stylist for the district 7 careers. I am 25 years old, and single." She explained, letting Drew know just a little about herself.

"Well, you already know I'm single," I answered, I decide to see if these are those wine cups that whistle when you rub your finger on them, I slide my finger on the tips of the cup, hoping to hear a ringing sound.

Arcadia took another sip of her wine, finishing the glass. As she poured herself some more, she continued to ask Drew questions. "So, what do you like to do for fun, what are some of your hobbies and interests?" She asked. She offered Drew the bottle.

Drew had to ponder at this, he decided to say his interests, "I love trying new things, so if anyone were to give me a new drink, food, or thing to do, I'd try it, so I am a very open man, my favorite thing to do for now is sponsering, but that's probably the only thing I've DONE. He told Arcadia, he couldn't think of anything else, so he asked, "What about you?"

Time Jump:

Arcadia walked up the stairs to the sponsor floor. The reapings for the 35th hunger games had just happened. She sat down on a couch, and turned her attention to the TV.

Drew walked down and walked up behind Arcadia. "Hey there." He said, hoping to scare her. He sat down on the couch and looked at her with a smile.

Arcadia looked up when Drew arrived. She jumped a little, but looked relieved when she saw that it was him. "Hey Drew, how are you?" She asked him. Arcadia grabbed his hand and pulled him down beside her.
