Exploring The Arena

I left the cornucopia and the blood bath behind with some good items. I decided to go take a look around to see if I might be able to find some food, and more importantly water. I figured since everyone else seemed to be going down, I would go up. I walked up the stairs, and came to a large room, which upon closer inspection turned out to be a library. I loved to read, so this place was like paradise for me. I took down some books and began flipping through the pages, hoping something useful would be in between the covers.

As I was flipping through one of the books, it started shrieking at me. I jumped and dropped the book onto the floor. I watched as a figure began to arise from the book, I grabbed my knives and took a defensive stance.

I looked at the boy that had emerged from the book. He was about my age, maybe a little bit younger. His face was filthy, and he had no shoes on, he was definitely poor.
He asked me if I had any money, of course I didnt. "Unfortunately, I dont, but I do have some apples, you can have one if you would like." I replied, pulling out one of my apples and holding it out for the boy.

The boy began to shriek when I offered him the apple. I quickly took it back, and returned it to my pack. When I looked back at the boy, he had fangs bared and his fingernails had become claws. I jumped back, trying to avoid his attack, and I jabbed with my other hand which happened to be holding both of my knives. "You ungrateful pig." I shouted at him.

The mutt screeched again, and this time lunged at me fangs bared trying to bit me. I backed up further into another aisle. I side stepped the attack, and then swiped with both my my knives, and the mutts throat. "Die, you despicable mutt." I shouted again.

"You need me!" it screeched at the tribute and then ran at the tribute slashing him.

The mutt then scratched at the girl.

I tried to jump back and started throwing books at it.My leg hurt too much but,if I wanted to survive and save Eric too,I needed to ignore it.

(You have a thing called the block dice, and also there are still weapons left at the cornucopia. You could also use the escape dice also. So no you are not going to die. I suggest before you post again you go read these guides )

I noticed the monster trying to bite me again and tried to stop it by throwing a base at its direction,hoping it would make it go away.I turned away and started running as fast as I could with my injured leg.I hid behind some selves and waited.

(You have to use the escape dice to escape.)

The mutt kept sniffing around searching for the tribute and it hissed a bit.

(now if you want to leave to go to the cornucopia you may do so now without an escape dice because the mutt didn't attack you this round. )

Hoping Eric would make it alive,I left as quietly as I could.When I was sure I was away,I started running towards the Cornucopia,hoping to find something there to help me.

I took a step back as the mutt slashed at me again. "I do not need you, what I need is for you to die." I retorted. I jabbed my knives at the beasts heart, and then again at its head. Just then my district partner ran up the aisle and began attacking the mutt, "Laura, thank god you survived the blood bath." I called out to her. I noticed she didnt have any weapons, so I added, "Im pretty sure there are still some weapons at the cornucopia, I can handle this blasted beast." The mutt grabbed Laura's backpack, and devoured the food she had in there, and seemed to heal a bit. I swore out loud, and jabbed at the beast again for good measure.

The mutt hissed at the boy and then clawed at him.
