The mutt must nearly be dead, because now it is getting even more vicious. I decide to just go for it and follow through my strategy. Block and hit. I hope it works, I don't want to take much damage.

I killed the mutt. I was still alive and well, but I did get hurt slightly. I decide to head back to check up on the water, hoping that it has been purified. I still had a few berries, but they wouldn't last long. I needed to drink really soon, and I needed more food. Whether it is edible plants or meat, even of it tastes horrible. As long as it helps my hunger stay down, and it doesn't harm me when digesting it, I am alright.

I find that the water is now purified. I get the rest of my bamboo and I fill it up with water. I collect two lots. One for me, one for my ally, Grace, if I can find her. Hopefully food will be easier to find, with animals going to drink up the clean water. I take a drink of the water, and my lips and mouth feel so much better from it. I look up to the sky and give a thumbs up. I will let the Capitol and everyone watching know how I am doing. I am letting my sister know that I am alive and I am set up with the basics.

I take my bow and arrows and climb up a tree to see if I can find any sign of potential food. I don't go too far from the water source. As long as I am near there, I have a good amount of clean water. It should last throughout the games. Food is what I need. I try to look on the ground for animals, on bushes and trees for edible plants. I can last 5 days without food. However, the games usually last at least a month. I can't survive without food.

"Ouch," I whisper to myself as I fall down the tree. I could start needing a med pack soon, as I am getting more hurt as the games go on. I am still on the hunt for food though. I am not climbing up that tree again. I didn't leave anything up there anyways. I load my bow with an arrow and prepare to shoot anything or anyone that comes near me except Grace.

I could now hear something, or someone. I hope that it is Gracee. If not, I am not afraid to shoot and I will. My district partner is dead, but my ally is alive.

I realise that the person was Grace. I immediately lower the bow and run up to her. I can see that she has been hurt badly.

"Grace, what happened?" I asked. I assume that it was the Capitol, releasing mutts on the girl with the 10. I am just relieved that she is alive. I still have a feeling inside that we are being watched. Not by anyone outside the arena, but a tribute inside.

While the two girls had reunited, off in the distance they saw something white, with a splash of red on it and it drew them closer and closer to the item, and they both took notice in it, although Jason made a few leaves rustle but that could also be mistaken for the wind, the girls wouldn't know.

"Someone else has been here," I whisper to Gadget. "But they must be really injured, or even dead." The wind seems really bad. Too bad to be the wind. I skipped past this small detail quickly, even though I don't think I should have.

"We better get some food," I whisper as I hold my loaded bow just incase someone or something pops out of nowhere.

I wondered who had just died, and how. I would have to wait until the end of the day to see the fallen. Off in the distance, I heard a girl's voice. Then I see her, it was Laura from District 7. I decided not to shoot.

"Hello. Don't worry, I won't harm you," I tell her. I hope Gadget is alright with this. I am in no position to ally with her, but we could maybe settle on a truce. So if we see each other we don't kill each other until the final 2-3. We wouldn't help each other out at all either.
