| Kaius strolled into the training room, casually passing by some of the stations, confident of the knowledge in his hand. What was more worrisome, was the actual killing part. Some people have been here way earlier than him or the rest, talk about a really gung-ho bunch here. Kaius yawned, making his way towards the offensive stations, passing by the one that was crowded with people. Among them he saw Valerie, and he paused, seeing her use her own little tactic. Kaius stopped himself from laughing as the trainer gave in and the district 3 boy gone over to the quieter offensive station. As much as he'd love to see if there'd be any boomerangs to make him happy, Kaius would rather avoid the crowd first, and visit later. Kaius scanned over the Melee station, observing the different weapons and it wouldn't hurt to actually learn something new. He spotted a scythe leaning in the corner and he got distracted. It was something he never saw before so Kaius stared at it for a minute or two before snapping back to reality, trainers giving him a funny look. "Wanna give it a whirl?" One of the trainers asked him and he quickly shook his head. Kaius knew what he had and what he don't, he had the muscles for a good throw and swing, but he definitely didn't have the muscles to maneuver a long weapon, throwing him off balance for sure.
What really caught his eyes though, was a curved dagger, having a great idea plotting up in his head, but more than anything, he liked the look of the dagger, simple enough to hold without killing himself, dangerous enough to protect himself from others. There weren't anyone else around so Kaius took his time, trying out other stuff first. Standing in front of the dummy, he gave a swift punch in its face, withdrawing his fist and cradling it in his other hand, muttering to himself, "Ow..." The trainers laughed as one of them came up to Kaius to teach him the proper way the punch without breaking his fingers. It took him an hour or also to finally pull of a good punch and block. They gave up on kicking though, he sucked at kicking 'cause every time he did it, he fell. With that out of the way, Kaius picked up the curved dagger, looking towards the trainer that helped him earlier, "could you teach me how to use this?" Not that he enjoyed torturing people with new toys, but more of that Kaius was interested in seeing new things. Death was almost imminent so why not explore a little? | |

| Stella Archer-------------------- Stella decided that she was ready to start practicing. She'd practiced a bit at home, while her mother wasn't home, and she knew that she could toss knives pretty well. But what about hand-to-hand combat? She looked around, trying to decide which station would be the best to go to first. The ranged station already looked pretty busy, and the survival station already had a few people. Besides, Stella was fairly confident she could start a fire by herself. She'd go there later, anyway. Stella decided that her best bet was the Melee station to learn hand-to-hand combat. There was already someone else there, the male tribute from District 3. Deciding that this was a good way to meet the competition, and to practice, Stella stepped up."Hi..." Stella said in her quiet voice. She looked at the weapon he was holding, a curved black dagger with a sharp blade. It didn't look too fun to get stabbed by. She picked up a smaller sword by the hilt, balancing it. It was a little bit too light, but Stella decided it'd do for practice."I'm new at this too..." She said again, hoping the trainer would help her learn the basics.-------------------- | |

| Kaius clutched onto the hilt and swiped the air, getting used to the weight of daggers. The trainer stood in a stance, showing the ways of attacks. Kaius mimicked the moves, after more or less learning the offense, he started learning defense; blocks, parries, dodges. While he was in the midst of that, a girl came up to the station as well. Kaius nodded to her in greeting and smiled a little, going back to the dagger learning. She's from Distict 4 if he's not wrong, not what he expected from a some what career district but he wasn't going to be stereotyping people now. He didn't have the rights to anyways. He paused for a moment, as she spoke to the trainers who had their hands free on the station. "Guess that makes two of us," Kaius murmured as he blocked the oncoming attack by the trainer, arms up in defense in attempt to hit him with the hilt of the dagger in his gut. He was obviously to slow when the trainer denied it. "Not bad," the trainer noted, "for a boyscout. But not bad." Kaius ignored his comment, whether it was an insult or not. They continued on for a little longer before he took a break, studying the other melee weapons around here. | |

| Stella Archer-------------------- Stella chuckled a little, but didn't say anything. Instead she looked at the tribute out of the corner of her eye. What did she think of him? Well, first off, she thought that he was a little attractive. But would he make a good alliance? The Instructor said that he was okay with the dagger. Stella didn't need okay, though. She needed good, or even great. An alliance with him didn't seem likely. Stella held out her sword, trying to get a good balance on it. She slashed the air a bit, and did a few stances that she had seen other people do in the training center back home, and hoped that she was doing them right. After the instructor criticized the other tribute, he came over to Stella and looked at her stance."Pretty good. You need to raise the sword up higher so you can strike and also block. Your knees shouldn't be locked, and you need to loosen up a bit."Stella did what the man said, only to find herself extremely uncomfortable. How did people do this all the time? She stabbed the air in the new stance."You don't stab someone like that," The Instructor rambled on about how you were supposed to 'slash' not 'stab' and if you were to stab someone, it'd be with a knife. But Stella was done holding the sword. She put it back down, smiled at the other tribute, and left the station.-------------------- | |

| Kaius could feel eyes on him as he held the dagger, as if he was being evaluated right there and then, and he wasn't just talking about the capitol sponsors and gamemakers. He noticed the girl leaving much earlier than he did, he returned the smile and picked up a spear. The weight and center of gravity of the weapon was so different from the midget little things he used. After a few experimental swings and jabs, the trainer shook his head, "if you want to save time, stick to the short weapons, you're good at that. Now just hope and pray that you're fast or charming enough to get one." Kaius somehow fully agreed with him and nodded, putting down the spear and played around with the dagger for a little while more before the man nodded in approval and Kaius then decided to utilise his time in other areas, Kaius thanked the trainer for his help before leaving the melee station, off to explore things he have never seen before. Live while we can no? Kaius' mind started wandering towards how being in the ocean felt as he directed himself towards other stations. | |
