Jason stepped away from the rest of the tributes after the lead trainer explained the areas. He made no effort to not let people know that he was going straight for the ranged weaponry, in fact, he stepped towards it quickly and confidently. He'd had a lot of time to practice ways to defend himself in the streets of District Five, and he didn't plan on feigning weakness here. "Go hard or go home" he said to himself dryly. Looking around at all the other tributes quickly, he picked up three throwing knives and strode into the shooting area. He aimed at one of the further bulls-eyes and threw, nailing the second ring out from center. His second throw went through the stomach area of one of the dummies up close. He waited patiently for the right moment to throw his last knife, letting the moving bulls-eye get to where he wanted it before throwing, he caught the middle rings on the right side of the target.

I watched one of the other boys, who I believed to be from district 5. He seemed to know what he was doing, and he executed his technique quite sharply. "You're pretty good." I commented after he had finished throwing the set of knives.

Valerie slipped into the training center without making a sound. She figured it was time, now, to learn, and while Valerie was definitely overconfident, she wasn't an idiot, and she doubted there would be stilettos for her to step on people with in the Games. She headed to the Ranged Station to make sure she could at least a adapt from a heel to a knife in a pinch before the games. It was also a good time to do a little... recruiting. Letting her sweater fall off her shoulder slightly and tilting her head to the side, Val picked up a knife and tossed it lightly at the bull's eye, where it hit the very outside ring. She pouted a little and slunk over to the knife, which had fallen to the ground. "Whoops," Valerie giggled, bending down sloowwwly to pick it up. She asked the instructor to help her, twirling her hair a bit, and he obliged. After a few tries, Valerie could hit much closer to the center of the target from a greater distance, and if the target was close enough, could hit on the edge of the actual bull's eye.

Jason turned around and walked past the little kid "I know" he said coldly, not willing to familiarize with the little guy, it'd just be a problem later on. He picked out some more knives, pausing for a second to observe the girl show up, she walked out into the target area to pick up her knife, and bent down to get it. He shook his head in disgust, one of those tributes. He kept his mouth shut though, he didn't want any friends, but he also didn't want to make any personal enemies, that would be even worse to have going into the games.

After he was done with some survival skills, he took to the range station. Best hope he really had is to attack from the distance. Looking through the weapons that were there, he decided on a throwing spear. Carefully raising it above his head, he threw it with as much force as he could at dummy in the distance. To his surprise, it had lodged itself strait into the chest of the dummy. Smiling, he took another spear before noticing a boy and a girl at the station. "Oh, hi." he said casually as he threw another spear, this one hitting the dummy in the leg.
