Back to Where it Began

Freckles and Rose had made it back to the Cornucopia. The smell of death still hung in the air, and Nefara was beginning to doubt herself. Could the Cornucopia be a good shelter? It was very likely that other tributes would eventually go to the Cornucopia, maybe to scavenge for leftover supplies, and the open space around it provided no coverage or place to hide. Nefara frowned at her self-doubt; it was silly. She looked around the Cornucopia to see if anyone had foolishly left a supply or two behind; examining the area, she could see that the Cornucopia only had one entrance--that was good--and that the area was very open. Even though they'd have no where to hide, neither would anyone else. And with one entrance....well, as long as they watched their backs when leaving it should be alright. For now, anyway.

Viktor decided to hang back at the rear of the group, just in case the gamemakers had decided to have sent another round of mutts at them. Nothing would surprise him now that he knew just exactly how the gamemaker was, ruthless. He made sure to pick up all of his supplies he had dropped to defend against the hoard of attacking rabbits and kept it all safe under his left arm. His stomach started to rumble a bit. Viktor decided that it would be best that he ate his apple now, so he could have strength to fend of any mutts or even other tributes. The apple was nice and ripe and juices squeezed out of it when he took his first bite. So this is what an apple tasted like. He remembered the promise he made with Arisu back home about coming to the orchard and sharing the bountiful apples she had with the wheat that he had. He missed home dearly, but he missed Arisu even more.

Marcelina followed after Henry and the others, gathering the things she had set down when she had shot at the rabbit-mutt. she realized that she was the only girl of the current group, though there were a few more in the alliance.
she was in the middle--not the one straggling behind, and not the first one to come across something new or dangerous, and that was just how she liked it. she had her bow out, though not necessarily for the intent of backstabbing her alliance--but more because she wanted to get a ranged edge on anything that might try approaching them. no, while the alliance would inevitably have to break at some point, it would not be now.

A pack of wolves came in and killed both Rosalee and Nefera. They were now closing in on the other five trying to push them towards the fields.

(Nefara and Rose died due to inactivity.)

Marcelina remained alert, noticing that the wolfpack was pushing their little group towards the fields. she figured that they might be out for blood, and so she kept her bow in one hand in case she needed to fire a shot. She didn't want to provoke them if the gamemakers were just using them to push their group a certain direction, but if they attacked, obviously, Marcelina wanted them dead... but she would worry about that if or when it came.

Viktor had no clue what had just happened, but the two tributes who had been at the cornucopia when they got there got mauled by a pack of wolves. He got his spear ready, waiting for the wolfpack to attack there group but instead they seemed to just be pushing them one direction. he thought to himself that they must be pushing them towards another tribute or even a group of tributes so that they could kill one another. He started to go in the opposite direction of the wolves, knowing that if he tried to go any other direction that the wolves would probably get even more aggressive towards him and the group.

The wolves kept pushing on them to move forward to the fields.
