Contacting the Recently Deceased

Star skipped dreamily out to the hospital, determined to accomplish the one thing that was on her mind: conversing with the lonely souls of the people in the hospital who had died. She settled down on the floor, ignoring the odd looks she was getting, and sat in full lotus position. Her fingers fluttered in the air, as if dancing on an imaginary harp, to welcome the souls into her midst.

"Mmmmmmmm," she murmured in a sing-song voice.

"Welcome spirits, do not fear. I don't want to hurt you, I just want to reach out and help you heal. Tell me what I can do to help you and let your passing to the mysterious other side be less painful. Let me help you, pure souls, and I shall. Tell me how you died..." whispered Star, eyes squeezes shut. She was utterly relaxed, searching her mind for any possible spirit contact.

Nothing.

Star sighed. "Heeellllllloooo? Souls? This is a hospital, someone's got to be dead. SPIRITS? Can you hear me?"

She frowned, wondering if the souls wanted a burnt offering or if she just wasn't a metaphysically receptive person.

Klark knew that it was rude to stare, and that he should be doing his work, but it was simply...strange. He was in the workshop to get some designs for his boss, when he saw this girl. They had just gotten new bluprints for a new train, which was Klark's specialty. Everyone in the design workshops was buisy, and Klark figured that the girl would get stepped on.
So, after getting the blueprints, he went over and lightly tapped the girl on her shoulder. "I'm sorry, but I think that it'd be best if you did...this somewhere else. You see, were real busy here, and I'm afraid your going to get stepped on.
Then, Klark realized that she had said something about a hospital. "You, um, do know that this is the design workshop, not a hospital....right?" Maybe if she thought that this was a hospital, than she needed to be in one.

Star opened one dark brown eye and glared at the boy who was talking to her. She hadn't had any luck with the spirits, and was growing impatient, so she subconsciously decided to take her anger out on this random person. "Excuse me? Can't you see I'm trying to contact the spirits of dead people? And yeah, I know it isn't a hospital. Do you see any doctors?" She didn't bother stopping to let him answer the question before she starting rattling off her mouth again. Star knew perfectly well she was being unreasonable and inconsiderate of someone who might've had something better to do, but went on (and on and on and on...) anyway. "No, I didn't think so. Why would you think this as a hospital, seriously?"

She frowned and opened the other eye. Star hated being interrupted, and wasn't going to let the punishment for doing so end yet.. "But you'd think that someone would've died in this place, right? The people here clearly have no regard for anyone who they may trample, especially mediums who are TRYING TO CONTACT THE SPIRIT WORLD, HERE, IF YOU GET MY POINT!" she called, screaming the last few words as the people passing by who had almost stepped on her. She looked back up at the boy who had spoken to her.

"Who said you had any right to barge in on my conversation, anyway? I was talking to..... Billerworth. Yup, Billerworth. He died in a designing accident about a year ago. It was pretty gruesome. I've helped him along though, through the years. That's why even I can barely see him. He's almost all the way passed the stage of being a ghost!" Star announced, completely ad-libbing. She wished she could actually speak to souls like that. She sighed, and lost focus for a second, as something was itching at her mind.

"You know, this kind of is a hospital, if you think about it. Some of the designs here are quite atrocious when they first start out. Wouldn't you say that by starting over and cleaning them up and improving them you could be.... healing them? Yes? No? Oh well. I tried to share my genius, but to no avail. It's a shame, really..." Star trailed off at the end of a long rant. Once again, she hadn't been listening to whether the boy had responded to her question about the hospital, she just kept talking.


(OOC: Sorry about the hospital thing, I had forgotten about this post... well, I tried to make it work. This character is actually remarkably entertaining to roleplay as. She's.... interesting, not necessarily in a good way, but fun to write for. Very annoying, as well, of course. Sorry about her not letting Klark answer, by the way. I'm not trying to power-play or saying he DID answer that, just that she ignored whatever he responded. So.... yeah, that's it. )

~Na, it's ok. I saw that there was only one charrie in district six so I wanted to make one, and I was all like ZOMG. I LOVE KLARK, MUST GO RP WITH HIM BEFORE HE GETS ENTERD IN THE HUNGER GAMES AND POSSIBLY DIES!!! And I don't think what you did was god-modding or powerplaying or whatever, that kind of thing happens in real life. She only paused for a second, not letting him talk.~

Klark was a little shocked. All he was trying to do was help this girl by asking her to move. Klark was glad, though that his boss had sent him to the workshop and not his father, because if Klark's father had met this girl, than he would freak out.
"Look," Klark began with a sigh. "You said something about a hospital, so I thought that you were in one. The vehical design workshop is really busy. People come in here all the time to pick up new blueprints, and everyone is always rushing to get back to work. They don't tend to watch were there going. I was trying to be nice and help you out so you wouldn't get trampled." Klark thought for another moment with what the girl had said.
"And I've never heard in someone dying in a design incadent before. What happend, did a designer through balls of paper at him until he died? Or was he stabbed with a pencil?"
Both sounded stupid to Klark, but he couldn't think of any other way that a person could die in a 'design accident' becuase they didn't actually test the machines that they design here. They test them in the next building, so it would be...weird if the spirit was haunting the design shop.

(OOC: Okay, cool! )

Star looked annoyed. "Well, I obviously can't ask him that, can I? Not with you bugging me! Oh, see, now he's run away. Thanks a lot for scaring him. Aw, Billerworth, come back!" She looked of in the distance, then glanced back in fake anger. "You see what you did? It's not polite to interrupt people when they're trying to work, seriously! Ugh," she growled, "I hate living people. Now I have to start all over and find Billerworth to ask him how he died! What exactly did this accomplish, again?" It was mostly a rhetorical question, but she wasn't paying attention to see if he answered anyway. Star was far too busy trying to think up a way for someone to die in a design studio. Then she thought of something.

"Oh, WAIT! Wait, he's coming back! Yes, Billerworth, step out of the darkness! Shed your cloak of fear and frolic around with the living for just a while longer! With all due respect, because I am clearly a person who respects others," she grumbled with a glare at the boy. "I wish to know how you died. Or rather, this dude wants to know. So, OUT WITH IT! Come ON! Pleeeeaaaaaaase?" Star begged, and sat perfectly still for a moment. Then, she sat straight up and softly screamed. This was just too fun.

"He whispers to me, boy," she murmured with wide, crazy-looking eyes. "Whispers... do you speak the language of chills trickling down your spine? I do..."

Star closed her eyes again and hummed, distinct, yet quiet as a honey-bee. This was too good an opportunity to prove her psychic abilities to pass up. She forced herself to gasp in 'surprise,' and snapped her eyes open.

"Billerworth Gorserunner IIII was born ninety-seven years ago. He died when he was only..." she glanced at the boy. He looked like he was probably somewhere around her age, and that gave Star an idea. Ooh! This is perfect! she thought.

"Fifteen... light brown hair... blue eyes... worked here, in the design workshops. Until one day, he was on his way to work, when he heard a noise. It was a scream. He ran inside the building, only to realize that there was no one there. He heard a creak from the ceiling, so he climbed on a table to investigate, when the sound came again, loud and unmistakably clear: it was his own scream. He spotted a device that was sticking to the ceiling and playing the sound, so he lunged for it. It darted out of the way, and poor, poor Billerworth IIII fell down, down, down and conked his head on the corner of the table. It was a shame, really. He was on of the best. Always tried to help the mediums who sat in front and meditated. This used to be a burial ground, you know," Star lied and rambled on with a creepy smile. "My people have been coming here for centuries. Eons, even. But, unfortunately, he didn't listen to the stories, boy. No, he ignored them." She paused. "Similar to you, actually. That's why his ghost came back, you know. He sees so much likeness of himself in you... be careful of the jabbering, child. Mind you, he might even appear in your dreams one night with another warning..." Star trailed off, waited a second, and collapsed backwards dramatically.

Klark felt a pang of guilt. Had this girl somehow heard what had happend to his brother? Because she was obviously lying about 'Billerworth'. Klark didn't believe in ghosts, spirits, or life after death. But, he did believe that you could die and come back to life.
Klarks face went a little pale as the girl had described the 'ghost'. It matched his apperance, as well as his brother. They looked very similar. Except, his brother was eight, and Klark was fifteen. Maybe the girl was trying to forshadow his own death, as vengance for putting his brother in the condition that he was in?
Klark had to much to think about. He handed the blueprints to his nearest co-worker, and then looked back at the girl that seemed very strange. "I'm...I'm sorry, but I have to go." Klark was going to go back to his house, and check on his brother-even though he was fine this morning when he left the house.

Star looked up. The boy seemed uneasy, and now she felt bad. She hadn't meant to seriously freak anyone out. He had probably not like the similarities between himself and her description of Billerworth. She sighed. "Billerworth has gone to a peaceful place after talking to you, though. He needed someone other than a medium to hear his story. Be proud of yourself. You just freed a ghost. Congrats..." When the boy said he was leaving, Star nodded and waved briefly goodbye. "Kay-kay. Toodles!" Then, after a moment, she added, "But seriously, lighten up. It's a not a bad thing when a ghost moves on. You did a good job."

Star returned to meditating and occasionally glaring at the workers who tripped over her. She almost felt like Billerworth had been real, and wished he was. It would be so cool to be a medium for real.

Klark had desided to not go and visit his brother, even though he talked to him every night, Klark didn't know if he could stand to see his brother in the day light.
So, instead, Klark sat outside, against the wall thinking.
It was his fault his brother was in a coma, he couldn't listen to his parents, they didn't blame him. But, Klark had brought his brother down to the river that day, and he had started running down to the water when he tripped and fell-if only Klark had told him not to run.
Klark hit the ground with his fist, even though he knew it wasn't going to do anything to help the situation. He was mad, upset, and confused, he picked up a stick from a treen and started drawing in the dirt. People came and went from the vehical design and they staired at him, but Klark was to upset to care.

Klark shook his head. "No, you didn't hear what I said. I came here to pick up some designs. I'm not a designer, I'm a train-builder. But...I can't go back to work. But, I can't go back home either," Klark turned his head away, looking down the hill to where his small house was. Where his mother, and father were. Where his brother slept.
"I don't think I could stand to see his condition in daylight..."

Klark sighed, and stood up, brushing the dirt off of his pants. "No, their not dying just...sleeping." Klark hated talking about his brother. It was his fault, if he didn't bring him down to the river that day, then Sky would still be here.
"And it's my brother. It's my fault that he's like this, he's in a coma, and he might never wake up..."
Klark didn't know why he was telling this strange girl about his brother. She could probably care less what was going on in his life.

Klark shrugged. "Na, it's ok. You didn't know any better. When you said about that Billingsworth guy fell and knocked his head on the table, it really got to me about my brother. I knew you were lying, by the way."
Klark stepped into the shadow of the design building. "Don't you think that if something like that happened, it would have turned into a rumer by now? Something like that is hard to keep secret."

Klark stepped inside again, and squinted as the light changed from the natural light of the sun to the inside light. "That's true, I guess." Klark looked around the workshop, and stepped out of the way just in time for someone to walk out of the building. "Maybe I should go back and get the designs to my boss, huh? He woudn't be happy if I was late." Klark said, remembering the last time that he was late with a delivery.

Klark had to laugh. Especially when the girl said to not step on the ghosts. "Oh, hey, I never got your name. I'm Klark." Klark smiled. He went over, and got the designs back, and then went over to the girl. "What's yours?" He asked, walking back over to the door.

I... My father died here in district 6. I watched as a airplane propeller flew of of the plane and impaled him. Please do this for me
