It was the night of the grand opening, and it was time for the tributes to showcase what they had. They were all dressed up in their get up and the chariots started to roll out.

Paris Erickson

Paris enjoyed her parade outfit much more than her reaping dress. In her parade costume, she felt powerful and original, like she wasn't just another death sentence. In this sleek dress, she could be whoever she wanted to be. In that moment, she preferred to be a strong, independent tribute that didn't give a damn what the Capitol thought. In all honesty she wasn't concerned with that as her styling crew began slipping shoes on her feet and a necklace around her neck. All of it was too much of course, but it was a beautiful kind of much. Paris doubted she had ever touched something so expensive before. Her hair was tied up in a mess of braids and twirls until she had a bun fashioned from a maze of hair.

Just as she stepped onto the chariot, she felt it surge forward. This was it. The games had truly begun. Paris looked left and right, noticing brightly colored faces and gaudy outfits. She simply smiled at them, out of amusement instead of respect. She didn't wave, cheer or bow. She didn't want to give them the satisfaction of turning her into someone she wasn't.

Arisu bent her head down to smell the flowers on her. They actually smelt really nice! The hibiscus and cherry blossoms covered the top part of her dress and her hat was a small little mini flower arrangement with sticks, and somehow, it felt comfortingly like home. How long has it been since she saw cherry blossoms? She closed her eyes and just smiled to herself while she was on the chariot. People must think she was weird and Arisu giggled at the thought of that, opening her eyes to hold on to the railings. She felt the rush of excitement, seeing the first few districts go ahead and she bounced on the spot, trying to take an earlier peak at what's out there. "Can you see it? Can you see anything?" She whispered in glee to Icarus, standing way taller beside her. She tried to tip toe higher to lean to the side but their chariot was pulled and she was almost thrown off, laughing she found her balance back in and waited patiently. Hearing the crowds coming louder and louder at them, her grin grew wider, she stretched an arm out and waved to the thousands of people cheering. She then brought down her hands and clapped together with the crowd, joining in with the fun! Sure they may not be cheering for her but she was contented to believe that they were noticed. Arisu plucked out a few stalks of flowers from dress and held a bunch up, letting it fly in the wind up to the audience as she hollered as loudly as she could, cupping her mouth with her free hand, "THE FLOWERS SMELL NICE! HAVE ONE!" She smiled as she look back to follow the paths of the flowers, they looked little pretty, looking small, and.. free.
