Lovely Day In The Neighbourhood~ (Moon and Sorella)

Jameson straightened the collar of his button down shirt as he walked out onto the front porch. The sun was high in the sky as he cleared out of the wood carving festival, which held everyone from young children to old drunks.He wove in and out of the crowds, this mind only on one thing. Or, person rather. Greta and Jameson had been hanging out more and more, even after Preston had gotten reaped. Their outbreaks at the reapings hadn't been the only time he had felt for his brave friend. Nothing seemed right for that few hours, but it had been a while. He still wouldn't be able to watch the games without fidgeting in his place.

He headed out to the tree house, a place where teenagers spent their days doing nothing in particular. In a shaded area, often silent, especially during festivals, stood the tree house. Jameson smiled at the figure, until the sound of tears filled his ears. He soon spotted the figure of Greta, as he rushed over to her. "What's wrong ,Greta?" James asked, surveying her quickly.

Seeing a bee stinger sticking out of her forearm, his emerald eyes gave her a comforting look. "Let me help," James whispered softly, placing his hands on her arms, hoping to calm her down a bit. "This might hurt a bit," he added, before quickly plucking out the stinger. "There, it's gone," Jameson said with a smile, wiping a tear off the girl's face with his thumb.

Jameson gave her a wide grin as she declared her dislike of bees, trying his best not to laugh. He didn't like the pests either, but he found her way of saying it comical. "Yeah, they aren't very nice to innocent people," he said with a shrug, the goofy grin still plastered on his face.

Taking a seat behind her, he shrugged once more. "Fine I suppose, I sent Valley out to the festival, she needs to find friends," Jameson explained with a slow nod. He wanted to see his older sister happy, but she wasn't being very helpful in that matter. She was shy, but he believed there had to be someone that could make her smile, other than himself. "Nothing interesting really," he added, picking up at leaf and flicking it out into the wind.

He turned his emerald eyes back to Greta, raising an eyebrow at her. "So, how's Kal and Peppermint? Staying out of trouble?" Jameson asked, his eyebrows wiggling at her questioningly. He knew that she would never do anything to cause trouble, but he could still tease her.

Jameson smiled at her comment about friends, and smiled, laughing along with her. Some people just had a natural confidence around strangers, like Greta and himself, but Valley was the opposite. He knew he shouldn't be so hard on his sister, but she could be a bit annoying. Unlike Greta, she was kind, caring, and funny.

As she continued, Jameson's grin widened as he nodded. "That's fun?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. "Yeah, Greta's gang, I can see it now, the scariest singing band of people you've ever seen," the boy said, mimicking a storyteller's voice as he drew his hand along the horizon dramatically.

Laughing at his detail, the boy turned to face Greta, taking in the view of her face. James had always thought her pretty, but even more so now. Maybe it was the way the sunlight shimmered over her chocolate eyes, or the natural wave to her hair; perhaps it was her blinding smile that always left him speechless. Blinking his emerald eyes, he felt a blush working onto his face. Jameson hadn't meant to stare, but he couldn't help it.  

Jameson smiled at Greta and gave a lighthearted shrug. "Well I suppose he'd have to learn then," the boy said, running a hand along his caramel colored hair. Casting his green eyes her way, he noted a pinkish shade to her cheeks. Was she blushing? The very thought had him turning a similar shade as he listened to her.

James noticed she was having trouble asking whatever it was, which caused him to be confused. The blush on her face and the new nervous atmosphere was a little odd, especially since they had become really good friends over the past few weeks. Once she finally concluded her statement, a broad grin floated over Jameson's face. "Greta, are you asking me on a date?" he asked, somewhat cockily. Of course his answer was yes, but he was somewhat astonished that she asked him. Sure, he figured that he would've gotten around to asking her out eventually, but this turn of events was okay. "I'm not doing anything on Friday."

Jameson smiled as Greta stumbled over her words, trying not to laugh as she did. He didn't want to make her feel bad, but he couldn't help it either. It was his nature to make everything a joke, but she wasn't. James knew this was probably hard for her, and he didn't want her to feel like she had just made a fool of herself.

"Greta, shut up," he said with a laugh. Brushing a strand of hair behind her ear, he smiled warmly. "Don't be sorry," he whispered softly, staring into her eyes. "Greta, would you do me the honor of going on a date with me Friday?" James asked, raising his eyebrow as the smile continued to sprout on his face.

Jameson gave Greta a smile, hoping it would ease her out of her nervousness. Personally, nervous people reminded him of his sister, who wasn't really that much fun. He liked fun people, who doesn't? As the red color drained slowly from her cheeks, James reclined his body slightly, setting his hands back for more support. "No problem," he said leisurely, a smile still painted on his face.  

Gazing out at the scenery, which included the beautiful girl next to him, James sighed contently. "So, what're we gonna do?" he asked, emerald eyes flicking up at Greta.
