Triple Announcement!

Attention Everyone!

We have some new additions to make to the site. We have, 1 Games rule, 1 Character Rule and 1 Event to let you all know about today! So, lets get right to it.

The new rule for the Games! After Rain had Shields as a weapon in the last games, we realized that we have no use for Shields, so, we're adding in the shield rule to the games!

the rule is as follows:

1.Your character can either have two weapons, or a weapon and a shield in their inventory.
2. If you character has a Shield, and is being attacked by two or more tributes in one turn, they can use two block dice to try and block two attacks instead of just one.
3. If your character has a shield and is attacked by one tribute in a turn, then it is as normal, you can only use the block dice once on them.

So it's fairly simple, it gives you an extra use of the block dice when more than one person attacks you at once! Helpful, no?

Next up, we have a new Rule for Characters to add more continuity to the forum. This one is a biggie, and we've done everything we can to make it work for everyone. This new rule is Mandatory Aging of characters! We've seen a few problems with roleplaying through Victors and their tribute friends, such as Rafe Terrn winning the games at 17 when his Girlfriend Astrid was also 17, and now she won her games at 18 and he is 21. Another situation like this happened with Rhea Glass going into her twenties while her friends all remained as teenagers.

To fix this, the Aging Rule works as follows:

1. After the end of Every Games, every character must age up one year from what they were at the start of the games.
2. Inactive Characters do not age, so if you want to keep a character at a certain age until a games you want to give them a chance to use them in, this is the way. You cannot, however, make them inactive between every games and then only activate them for reapings to avoid aging them, we will catch on and kill off the character.
3. A new Item is going to be added to the Shop for purchase that will stop the aging of a character of your choice for two games. It can only be used twice per character.
4. With this new addition, one of the concerns among staff was that characters the person liked would pass 18 and be gone, so as of now, you can have characters who are both below the age of twelve or above the age of 18 and Roleplay them in the districts without them being a victor. These characters are not eligible for the Reapings, they can only be used in the Districts. Before anyone asks, if your characters get old enough to have kids, they can have kids you can control and possibly reap into the games, eventually creating a dynasty family name Razz

5. Characters under the age of 12 count for a character slot the same as 12-18 year olds do, as they will become tribute charries at 12. Adult characters (19+) do not count for a character slot.

This one is a big addition to the site, so if you have any comments please PM a staff member such as myself about them so we can make sure everyone understands.

Our upcoming event will take place between the last games and the 34th, upcoming Hunger Games. It will be a good way for people to test out the Shield addition xD

We call it, Horde Mode. Basically, Ari, using one of her victors(currently in a poll, it's going towards Spencer Watts), Myself with Jacob Barker, 26th Games Victor and Sorella with Astrid Splints-Terrn(The newest Victor, of the 33rd Hunger Games) will be a Three Character Team, with 400 health Each. The rest of you, being the entire forum aside from us three, as the other team. You are allowed to use every one of your characters(one at a time, and once per character) to come and attack us in a giant horde of tributes to see how long it takes for the Three to succumb to the Group. You can select any weapon/shield combination you want for your characters, and if they die in the Event, they are still alive in their Dictricts afterwards. The Event date is not decided yet, but it will last Five Days, or until all three members of the 3 man team are dead.

I like that older characters don't count as character spots... must have missed this in the staff discussion. This makes it much easier to make legacies! :DUh, just a question (I'm posting it here instead of asking on staff chat because another user might have the same question), can character ages be changed (aged up, since aging down would just make completely no sense) without the Games passing? Like, if my character is 26 and has a baby, and I want to age both of them up so that the baby is like 12 and she's 37, so I can play the child in the Games or something, is that possible/allowed?

EDIT: Also, characters older than 18 still have to age up every Games, yes?

@ Rain: If you're okay with jumping the character age and the result if the character had friends and stuff who will suddenly be 10 years younger than your character when they were born the same year, then you can jump up ages for characters. NOT for Victors though, because if someone wins the games at 14 and then wants to mature the character and makes them 20 or over after the games finish, it throws everything off in the fact they were too old to win the games that happened a year ago at that point. Victors must age 1 year per games without skips.

As to your second question, Yes, all characters in the districts, Victor, Tribute, kid or adult, all age 1 year per games. Capitol Characters are exempt from aging because they only exist to sponsor, not to RP.
