Kaius left the lunch room, separating from his district partner to work on their own needs. He started checking off his mental checklist of what he already knew, what he learnt, and what he needed to learn. As "helpful" as books were, practical means never came into of any use, and thus, in most cases, seeing the real thing helps a lot more than just diagrams in a printed book. He stood in front of the table of items with no labels, just displaying themselves while the female trainer by that station smiled to Kaius. "Know anything about them?" the trainer asked, breaking the silence. "Yeah, a little I guess," Kaius glanced through the items and spotted the nuts. "Hickory Nuts. They're the most calorie dense wild food and they taste like pecans." He picked up a nut that looked fairly like what he remembered.

"And how can you tell if it's 100% Hickory Nuts?" "It has a double nut shell." "But so do Buckeyes, and they're poisonous." "..." Kaius kept quite for once not knowing the answer to a question. The trainer, amused, helped him out and picked up another nut, almost identical to the one Kaius was holding. She peeled off the first layer of the nut she was holding and told Kaius to do the same, revealing that the inner shell of the nut Kaius was holding was smooth while the one She was holding had a multi chamber, like a wrinkly walnut. The trainer started explaining things to Kaius like what to look out for and how to tell the dangers of inedible food. Kaius absorbed the information quickly, nodding his head often as they went along and the trainer was suspicious of his attention to her but he soon convinced her by the trail he went through once again, almost knowing exactly the things she had just bombarded him with. As long as he could merge the newly found Practical skills and the Theory at hand, maybe the chances of food in the Games could come by easier than an hour ago. Kaius took a little more time to explore the other items that aren't nuts. Something newer that would require some memory jolting for the facts. The station was fairly empty and the female trainer went along side with Kaius, guiding him along with the Wild Rice, Rose Hips from the Rose bushes, Elderberries, and weirder stuff that almost started to overwhelm him. Maybe the whole section of Edible parts of Mother nature was too much in an hour or so.
