| "Welcome welcome, to the annual thirty-second hunger games!" a voice boomed over the pa into the crowd. "We select a courageous young man, and woman from each district to play in the hunger games!" She said peppy like and then showed a video about the history and background of the games. "Now, ladies first.." She put her hand into the glass bowl and pulled out a name.
"Lupa Avion"
Then she went over to the men's bowl and put her hand in and dug out a name.

As usual, Lupa and her brother Storm were packed into the crowd of District 9's children and awaited the calling of the tributes. Of course, both siblings had been called once, but both had been spared by a volunteer. Because of this, neither had thought that they would be picked again; looking at all the odds, it was highly unlikely. That's why, when Lupa's name was called, even the girl infamous for emotionlessness dropped her blank expression into a frown of shock. But the shock wore off quickly, and she brushed her hair back, moving forward with her head held high. Behind her, she knew her brother was crying silent tears because they both knew there would be no volunteer this time. | |
