Dane wandered around the area set up for all the Halloween festivities. He stumbled across what appeared to be a lake and of course a large sign warning against swimming in the waters. "Well....seems like fun at least. What's the worst that could happen?" Dane was always up for a good time and why not enjoy the time he had here? He took a running start and jumped right into the cold water, lifting his head up a few seconds later to catch his breath. He climbed to the shores and looked down at himself waiting to see if anything had happened to him.

Dane began to feel an overwhelming confidence in his Social Skills. He didn't know it yet, but he was now found to be very charming and attractive by all girls within a year of his age, despite what they may have thought otherwise.

Andrew walked along the side of the lake and heard a splash up ahead. Quickly moving to where the sound had come from, he saw a guy stepping out of the water, looking at himself weirdly. He shouted out loudly, "Oh, you cannot be left alone in braving those creepy waters my friend" he steps up beside the guy and pats his shoulder like they've been buddies since they were ten. "Time to get a little fishy!" He shouted, sprinting towards the water and jumping in, cannonballing the landing to make a big splash. He came back to the surface of the water and swam over to the guy again, not bothering to check himself. "So, who are you new friend?"

Dane looked down but didn't see anything different with himself. No tentacles had sprout from his torso or any extra fingers popped up on his hands. "Psh, toxic lake." He looked around for a moment, wondering if maybe he had gained some super human ability. He saw a nearby tree and readied a punch. He hit the trunk as hard as he could, but not before feeling as if he broke something not on the bark but in his hand. "Son of a...." He held his fist close to his body as he tried to get rid of the pain that ran up his arm. "Well it seems I don't have superhuman strength or anything." He shrugged, he would figure out if anything happened eventually. He did feel some new confidence in himself, but he just assumed it was nothing more than what he felt normally.

Dane noticed a guy come over to him and pat him on the shoulder. He seemed friendly enough, someone cut from the same cloth as Dane was. He held out a hand to shake as he introduced himself. "Dane, Dane Zelker. And you my friend?"

Andrew came out of the lake and after a few moments he began to feel a little strange and different. His head hurt for a moment but after the dull pain subsided he could start to hear what seemed like the small amount of thinking that was coming from his new companion. It seemed the boy picked up the ability to read minds from his dip in the toxic lake.

Andrew shook his hand, "Andrew Epsilon, proud to know you" he says, smirking, "Takes guts to jump into a lake this creepy, but uh, it was no hesitation for me, you know" Suddenly, Andrew's head hurt, and he put a hand on it, rubbing his temple lightly, "What the..." he mumbled. Looking up at Dane, Andrew points at his head, "Think of something, a number, colour, something like that, but don't tell me what" he says, scratching the back of his head.

Dane looked a little confused at the request. "What...why?" But without even waiting for an answer he thought of something. After a little bit of mulling it over in his mind he decided to go with the color yellow. He liked the color and well it seemed like it was appropriate enough.

Andrew waited for a moment, as Dane seemed confused at first. For a split second, Andrew had to wonder if Dane actually knew any numbers or colours, but he heard one loud and clear, in Dane's voice. "Yellow?" he asked, unsure of the result.

Andrew guessed what Dane had thought correctly, which was pretty amazing. How exactly he knew he wasn't sure of. "How did you do that?" He decided to give it another try, seeing if maybe it was just a freak coincidence. "Wait try it again. I'm gonna think of something so try to guess." There were only a handful of colors so he decided to go with a number this time. He concentrated on the number 43, waiting to see if Andrew got it correct again.

Andrew felt a bit more confident in this as he got one right and Dane said to try it again. He smirked as he picked it up, Dane could count that high? Certainly made things a bit brighter for their friendship. "Forty Three" he said, no doubt in his voice. "Now, where are all the people at?" he said, turning and looking for civilization, or people in general.

A huge smile came across Dane's face as Andrew guessed again correctly. "That is awesome!" He looked around a few times as Andrew asked where the people were, and Dane realized that he hadn't even seen another person the entire time. He looked to Andrew and shrugged, "Good question. I guess maybe we should go find some." He grinned mischievously at his suggestion.

Andrew smirked, starting to walk off towards the nearest visible lights in the distance. "Preferably of the hot female type" he added. Time to get some girls, take them around the place, let them get scared, and let fear of their surroundings work in his favor.

Dane nodded at Andrew suggestion, it seemed like the kind of plan he would suggest. "Good idea, its like your reading my mind." He laughed at his own lame joke, the two of them had only discovered a short time ago that Andrew could read thoughts. He followed behind his new companion towards the lights hoping to find some people around.

Andrew shook his head, unable to not smile at the joke. Jeez, who dropped this guy on his head as a kid? "Maybe we can make a fire in the woods, all the scared girls in there will flock to the light" he says thoughtfully.
