Lost In Cotton Candy Trees

Lori could feel herself getting tired and weaker as she backed away from the attack and readied another arrow. She pulled against the string and aimed it at Becky who she decided she would just keep attacking. Out off the two tributes she was the weakest and if she could take down the girl before she died then she would go down happy. She let the arrow go and went back into a defensive stance

Nicanor watched as Lori was getting attacked, his rage began to kick in and it was almost like he completely blacked out. He wanted to kill them and make this personal so he grabbed his spear close to the sharp point, ran up to becky and tried to stab her right in her gut.

Lori backed up a bit and looked to Nicanor, nodding to him a bit before pulling her axe out and rushing towards Jarvis. She took a swing at him and motioned for Nicanor to follow her lead and attack Jarvis. They needed to get rid of them as quickly as possible.

Nicanor noticed as Lori motioned to him to attack Jarvis, which made sense to him since they needed to injure him as well. He readied his spear and took a stab at Jarvis, wanting him to die so badly so that Lori could live to help take on the girl who he did not see as much of a threat right now.

Becky looked around and noticed they went for Jarvis. Becky tried to block one attack on Jarvis because he had healed her and she had to repay him. Then Becky went and lunged at Lori hoping to hit.

The trees shift in a sudden wind, and the ground falls through, sending the tributes through a hole in the ground. Under there is a deep cavern made of diamond. This patch of the cotton candy field was apparently grown on a thin layer of ground, and all this fighting made it cave in. Nic's spear catches on the edge and he hangs on, but the other tributes fall on various lumps of earth. Becky and Jarvis are on a narrow rock together, with Lori just on the other side. They are connected by a rickety line of old, cracked crystal that threatens to collapse at any moment if walked on, but is the only way to get from Lori to Becky and Jarvis and back. Nicanor might be able to pull himself back up to the top, but the effort might dislodge him and send him tumbling down to another lump of crystal.

Becky, Jarvis, and Lori collect damage. 1st goes to Becky, second goes to Jarvis, third goes to Lori. Lori and Becky/Jarvis can only be reached by the bridge, and Nicanor is unreachable to the tributes unless he jumps down from the shaky grip of his spear on land.

Nicanor watched Lori get killed right below him, not being able to help her at all. "I love you to Lori", he said out loud in the hopes that she might hear him before she passed on. A tear ran down his face as it started to sink in that he would never be able to see her again. of course he knew that one of them had to die for the other to win, but he wanted to be the one that died. He failed at the only goal he had in these games. If he could not defend Lori, you can be damn sure that he was going to avenge her.

He knew what he had to do and just how he could do it. He quickly made up his mind and dropped down from where he was hanging to where Lori laid on the ground. He knelt down and kissed her on the forehead and whispered to her, "We will live together once more babe." He knew he had the time to do this with Jarvis near death and Becky throwing her knife at him. He took a hold of the bow that Lori had strung around her shoulder, slowly taking it off her dead body, "I am going to end this your way."

Once he got the bow off of her he went and got the arrows and neatly placed them onto his back. He looked down at her one last time, folding her arms across her chest. He turned to Jarvis, who did not look good at the moment from what had gone on just moments earlier, "I am going to kill you for fun if you are still alive for me to do so and it will be so, so slow that you will beg for me to take your life." His voiced deemed to change while he said it, sounding almost menacing and dark. Everything that he held dear to him had been ripped from his chest and he could not feel anything anymore. It was like something died in him when Lori died right in front of his eyes and he could do nothing to save her.

He gripped the bow tightly in his left hand and reached across his right shoulder with his right hand and grabbed one arrow by the feathers. He strung it slowly, just like how he saw Lori do it so many times in the Arena. He had never shot an arrow from a bow before in his life, but he saw Lori do it enough that he would just do everything that she did. He pulled the string back, aiming for Becky since he wanted to leave Jarvis till last and let his family see what he was going to do to him. He took a deep breath in and exhaled slowly, reducing the amount his hand would shake in the process. Then he released the arrow which he aimed right in the center of her chest.

Nicanor watched as both Becky and Jarvis died in front of his eyes. Seeing this made him remember just who they needed to be fighting, and it was not with each other, it was with the capitol. They were the ones sending them into the arena to slaughter one another, make them lie, deceit, back stab one another just so that they might have a chance of going home and seeing their family. He fell to his knees, realizing that he just killed a person with his own two hands. He had done the one thing that he swore he would never do in his life, kill a person. He turned Jarvis, who was speaking to him and listened to what he said. He was right about everything, how Lori would have been nicer in the same situation. The only thing he could think of to do was apologize to him. So he went a little closer and whispered, "I am sorry Jarvis, I forgot who the real enemy was. We both know that I am not sadistic enough to be able to do anything like that", he noticed that Jarvis stopped breathing and had passed. He gently closed his eyes and said, "Rest in peace."

He quickly turned to Becky. The thought of what he did to her made him sick to his stomach. He yelled across to her the same thing he said to Jarvis, "Rest in peace", but also added ,"We will meet once again and I am so so sorry for what I did." He did not know if she was still alive to hear it, but he felt like he had to say it, but did not know if it was for her sake or for his own sake. He then turned back to Lori and held her motionless hand in his hands, not ever wanting to let go. He had already said what he wanted to say to her, but he felt like she deserved more from him. So he just knelt there, holding her hand. He began to cry when he remembered the night just before they got into the arena, the night that he realized that he loved her, "I am sorry Lori", was the only words he could muster as he stayed there by his side and waited for the hovercraft to come and take him away from this terrible place.
