I sit on the ground next to my house writing poems in the mud with a stick. They're hard to read and will be washed away soon, but it's still fun to do. I throw my stick to the side and read my poem.

Maybe one day we'll awaken
And this will be a dream
Everything that happened
Or had felt and seemed
Was never real
All that we though we could ever feel
The colors from red to teal
It was all never real

Not my best work. I've done better, but it's not terrible. I smile at the words. I wish that was true. I hate the fact that we were so poor, I hate the fact that I haven't eaten since two days ago. Gosh I'm so hungry.
I look over to my right and see younger kids playing games in front of their big houses. With their fancy toys and crap. Lucky children they are, I'm sure they're well fed too. I look at them with a look of envy, oh how I wish I was one of them. I sigh and stare back at the ground.
