Derald stood up and shook Dane's hand and grinned, "who are ya callin' Beefy." He turned to see another guy who came not too long ago, who Dane called Legs. Did he like have a nickname for everyone in the district or something? He heard Maya talk to the guy, or Legs. Obviously Dane was provoking Maya to hit him just before Derald came. He then hear the girl say something. She didn't talk a lot at all so he tipped his hat and introduced himself again, "Hey, I'm Derald." Dusk barked and nudged everyone's legs as a greeting to them all. Dusk loved people more than she liked the heard of sheep back home!

Derald squat down again, rubbing Dusk's neck and pat it twice, "Time to go home, Dusk." The border collie barked and started in walk in a direction, the direction where Fleur and Derald came from. She brought the whole group, backtracking Derald's route, bringing them probably a long way back. Well, at least it's something.

Maya was feeling better. "I have two little dogs like you, Dusk," she commented, feeling a bit silly for speaking to a dog. "You know, border collies and whatnot." Dusk reminded her of her own two border collies, Lacey and Blue. Oh, my god! she suddenly remembered. Lacey and Blue... I hope Mallow feeds them. Poor babies. She followed the dog silently for a while, then turned to Aria, who seemed a little left out. "Are you okay?" she asked, mildly concerned. Aria had comforted her before, and Maya was happy to return the favor. "You seem... I don't know, quiet," she said. Her amber eyes were wide, but she wasn't really surprised by anything. Aria seemed like a bit of a floater to her. Yeah, because I would know so much about social standings... Maya teased herself. I guess I'm kind of a loner now.

Dane knelt down now on the same level as Derald's dog Dusk. She reminded him of his own collie Bear. He ruffled the fur between her ears in the same playful manner that he would do to Bear whenever he went home to the house his mother and brothers stayed in. He was hardly there anymore, ever since his father passed. It was easier to stay part time on the Lemmings' ranch when he worked for multiple day stretches. But he did always miss Bear sleeping on the foot of his bed. Dane's mother always says that Bear still sleeps there at the foot of the mattress as if Dane was still there sleeping.

Dane stood up, sick of being in his own head. He folded his hands behind his head and yelled out to the dog. "Ok Pup, lead the way. The sooner I get away from here the better." Dane walked over to Talmon, who remained quiet. He flashed a smile at him not sure if his friend, like the rest of the group seemed to be, was mad at him.

Aria leant down and pettted the dog for a it. She loved dogs; and Dusk was beautiful. It looked like he was smart to because as soon as Derald told him to lead the way home he ran off immediately. Hopefully his confidence was a sign that he knew where they were and where they were going. Aria looked up as Maya asked her a question. She shrugged. "I'm fine. I'm always quiet according to most people." she said, smiling a little bit. Aria could be very loud when she wanted, but usually she was only like that when she was really hyper. And that only happened when she was having lots of fun. Being lost right before nightfall was definitely not Aria's idea of fun. Not at all.

Dusk waged her tail, enjoying all the pats that she got. She continued in front of the group and barked in reply to Maya. Derald chuckled at his dog who was enjoying the attention she was getting. She doesn't always get so much attention and Dusk loves people a lot. Not too long later, Dusk barked and dashed ahead through the fields. Derald pointed to the direction Dusk ran off, "Looks like we made it back before dark." The figures of houses and dim lights formed in the distance and the group got out of the large fields. Derald thought about how horrible it would be if they came back after nightfall, Tess would probably slaughter him. He stretched his arms in the air before putting his hands in his pockets, following the excited dog that was far ahead, jumping up and down, proud to have led the group back home.

Maya couldn't help but frown for a moment once they reached the civilized part of District 10 again. Great.... she thought sarcastically. Now I get to return to my dear mother! Oh, joy. Still, she forced a polite smile and dipped her head to Derald. "Thanks." She turned around with a quick glare at Dane and another nod-smile at Aria, Fleur, and Talmon, then patted Dusk on the head and started the short trek home. "See you later," she called over her shoulder. "I'm going to head home. Bye." Maya was lying. When she reached her house, she just kept walking, making sure to be out of view of the rest of ~~pretty much everyone in D10~~ the group. She wasn't running away; she would be going home eventually, but for now she just needed to be alone.

Fleur followed Dusk and Derald as they led the way back. She kept to herself afraid of breaking down again which would have been terrible. Soon enough they were coming into few of the houses and they were no longer lost. Which was nice, it was just about night fall but they still weren't quite safe if it was nightfall. Fleur smiled and then she started treading through the field running with Dusk and laughing. Soon she stopped and then noticed all the houses and then the hill to up to her house. "Well, Derald, Talmon, and Maya. I'll see you all later, my families ranch is up this way so, I'll be going now. Thanks, Derald and Dusk for helping us get back home." She said and then started heading for her ranch and soon was out of ear shot.

Dusk ran ahead and barked happily as she lead the rag tag group back towards the civilized part of district 10. Dane continued to walk with his hands folded behind his head as they made their way down the final hill. Dane could see the dots of lights that sat on the horizon, and knew that they were close. "Yeah, we are back. Great..." Maya had left and Fleur made her way towards her family's ranch. Dane knew that he had to work in the morning and that meant that he was staying at the Lemming's overnight. The arrangement that the two families had was quite weird but it somehow worked. He turned and gave a small wave towards the rest of the group that remained. "Well...I am off. Night Curls, Legs, Beefy. I guess I will see you when I see you." He pivoted and then made his way towards the Lemming's ranch.

Derald waved to Maya, then Fleur, then Dane as one by one they started to head for home. He bent down and gave Dusk a good rub on her neck, "good going girl." Dusk whined softly, shy of the praise before turning and running for home. Derald stood up and turned to 'Legs' and Aria who remained, "I better get going too, before Dusk runs off to somewhere else, my cousin would kill me! See ya'll some time soon." Derald grin to them before taking off after his companion yet again. Doesn't the dog ever get tired? Derald sighed, he could definitely wait for the wrath at home for being gone so long. Though it shouldn't be too bad since his uncle would probably be up and working again. Still, the thought of Tess getting all worked up kinda scared him.
